Now, brothers and sisters, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying: “Nothing beyond what is written.” The purpose is that none of you will be arrogant, favoring one person over another.
Now G1161 these G3778 things G3778, brothers G80 and sisters, I have figuratively G3345 applied G3345 to myself G1683 and Apollos G625 on G1223 your account G1223, so G2443 that G2443 in us you may learn G3129 not to exceed G5228 what G3739 is written G1125, so G2443 that G2443 no G3361 one G1520 of you will become [fn]arrogant G5448 in G5228 behalf G5228 of one G1520 against G2596 the other G2087.
Now G1161 these G3778 things G3778, brothers G80, I have applied G3345 to myself G1683 and Apollos G625 for your sakes G1223, so G2443 that in us you may learn G3129 not to go G5228 beyond G5228 what G3739 is written G1125, so G2443 that no G3361 one G1520 of you will become puffed G5448 up G5448 on G5228 behalf G5228 of one G1520 against G2596 the other G2087.
Now I have applied these things [that is, the analogies about factions] to myself and Apollos for your benefit, believers, so that you may learn from us not to go beyond what is written [in Scripture], so that none of you will become arrogant and boast in favor of one [minister or teacher] against the other.
The Textus Receptus (latin, "Received Text") is the Greek text originally compiled by Erasmus around 1516. Though the earliest work was prepared by Desiderius Erasmus, his work was later revised by Robert Estienne (or, Stephanus) and further revised by Theodore Beza. The text produced by each is substantially the same, aside from some minor variations. The Blue Letter Bible utilizes Stephanus' edition from 1550.
