So the woman said: “Why then have you schemed such a thing against the people of God? For the king speaks this thing as one who is guilty, in that the king does not bring his banished one home again.

She replied, “Why don’t you do as much for the people of God as you have promised to do for me? You have convicted yourself in making this decision, because you have refused to bring home your own banished son.

The woman said, “Why then have you devised a thing like this against the people of God? When the king says this, does he not convict himself, for the king has not brought back his banished son?

And the woman said, “Why then have you planned such a thing against the people of God? For in giving this decision the king convicts himself, inasmuch as the king does not bring his banished one home again.

The woman asked, “Why have you devised something similar against the people of God? When the king spoke as he did about this matter, he has pronounced his own guilt. The king has not brought back his own banished one.

καὶ εἶπεν γυνή ἵνα τί ἐλογίσω τοιοῦτο ἐπὶ λαὸν θεοῦ ἐκ στόματος τοῦ βασιλέως λόγος οὗτος ὡς πλημμέλεια τοῦ μὴ ἐπιστρέψαι τὸν βασιλέα τὸν ἐξωσμένον αὐτοῦ

فَقَالَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ: «وَلِمَاذَا افْتَكَرْتَ بِمِثْلِ هذَا الأَمْرِ عَلَى شَعْبِ اللهِ؟ وَيَتَكَلَّمُ الْمَلِكُ بِهذَا الْكَلاَمِ كَمُذْنِبٍ بِمَا أَنَّ الْمَلِكَ لاَ يَرُدُّ مَنْفِيَّهُ.

قَالَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ: «إذَنْ، لِمَاذَا ارْتَكَبْتَ هَذَا الأَمْرَ فِي حَقِّ شَعْبِ اللهِ؟ أَلا يَدِينُ المَلِكُ نَفْسَهُ عِنْدَمَا يُصْدِرُ مِثْلَ هَذَا الْحُكْمِ لأَنَّهُ لَمْ يَرُدَّ ابْنَهُ مِنْ مَنْفَاهُ؟

And the woman said, Why hast thou devised this thing against the people of God? or is this word out of the king's mouth as a transgression, so that the king should not bring back his banished?

Entonces la mujer dijo: ¿Por qué pues piensas tú otro tanto contra el pueblo de Dios? que hablando el rey esta palabra, es como culpado, por cuanto el rey no hace volver á su fugitivo.

Entonces la mujer dijo: ¿Por qué, pues, has pensado tú cosa semejante contra el pueblo de Dios? Porque hablando el rey esta palabra, se hace culpable él mismo, por cuanto el rey no hace volver a su desterrado.

And the woman said, Why have you had such a thought about the people of God? (for in saying these very words the king has put himself in the wrong because he has not taken back the one whom he sent far away.)

Entonces dijo la mujer: --¿Por qué, pues, piensas de este modo contra el pueblo de Dios? Cuando el rey dice estas palabras, se culpa a sí mismo, por cuanto el rey no hace volver a su desterrado.
