Then she said, I desire one small petition of thee; I pray thee, say me not nay. And the king said unto her, Ask on, my mother: for I will not say thee nay.

وَقَالَتْ: «إِنَّمَا أَسْأَلُكَ سُؤَالاً وَاحِدًا صَغِيرًا. لاَ تَرُدَّنِي». فَقَالَ لَهَا الْمَلِكُ: «اسْأَلِي يَا أُمِّي، لأَنِّي لاَ أَرُدُّكِ».

وَقَالَتْ: «جِئْتُ أَطْلُبُ مِنْكَ أَمْراً وَاحِداً بَسِيطاً، فَلا تَرُدَّنِي خَائِبَةً». فَأَجَابَهَا: «اسْأَلِي يَا أُمِّي، لأَنِّي لَنْ أُخَيِّبَ لَكِ رَجَاءً».
