وَلَمْ يَقُلْ شَاوُلُ شَيْئًا فِي ذلِكَ الْيَوْمِ، لأَنَّهُ قَالَ: «لَعَلَّهُ عَارِضٌ. غَيْرُ طَاهِرٍ هُوَ. إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ طَاهِرًا».

وَلَمْ يُعَلِّقْ شَاوُلُ فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ عَلَى غِيَابِ دَاوُدَ، ظَنّاً مِنْهُ أَنَّ عَارِضاً قَدْ أَلَمَّ بِهِ وَأَنَّهُ غَيْرُ طَاهِرٍ طِبْقاً لِلشَّرِيعَةِ.

And Saul said nothing on that day, for he said, It seems to have fallen out that he is not clean, because he has not purified himself.
