καὶ εἶπεν Βαλααμ πρὸς Βαλακ ἰδοὺ ἥκω πρὸς σέ νῦν δυνατὸς ἔσομαι λαλῆσαί τι τὸ ῥῆμα ἐὰν βάλῃ θεὸς εἰς τὸ στόμα μου τοῦτο λαλήσω

فَقَالَ بَلْعَامُ لِبَالاَقَ: «هأَنَذَا قَدْ جِئْتُ إِلَيْكَ. أَلَعَلِّي الآنَ أَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ أَتَكَلَّمَ بِشَيْءٍ؟ اَلْكَلاَمُ الَّذِي يَضَعُهُ اللهُ فِي فَمِي بِهِ أَتَكَلَّمُ».

فَأَجَابَ بَلْعَامُ: «هَا أَنَا جِئْتُ إِلَيْكَ. أَتَظُنُّ أَنَّ فِي وُسْعِي أَنْ أَتَكَلَّمَ الآنَ بِمَا أُرِيدُ؟ عَلَيَّ أَنْ أَنْطِقَ فَقَطْ بِمَا يَأْمُرُنِي بِهِ الرَّبُّ».
