Then the LORD God formed the man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and the man became a living person.
In whose hand is the life of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind?
"The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, And by the breath of His mouth all their lights.
This is what God the LORD says, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread out the earth and its offspring, Who gives breath to the people on it And spirit to those who walk in it:
"This is what the Lord GOD says to these bones: 'Behold, I am going to make breath enter you so that you may come to life.
'And I will attach tendons to you, make flesh grow back on you, cover you with skin, and put breath in you so that you may come to life; and you will know that I am the LORD.'"
So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a [loud] noise, and behold, a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to its bone.
And I looked, and behold, tendons were on them, and flesh grew and skin covered them; but there was no breath in them.
Then He said to me, "Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, 'The Lord GOD says this: "Come from the four winds, breath, and breathe on these slain, so that they come to life."'"
So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath entered them, and they came to life and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.
Everything that has breath shall praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!
So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the LORD rushed upon David from that day forward. And Samuel set out and went to Ramah.
"The Spirit of the LORD spoke through me, And His word was on my tongue.
'You have granted me life and goodness; And Your care has guarded my spirit.
Create in me a clean heart, God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?
Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
The Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and strength, The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD.
Until the Spirit is poured out upon us from on high, And the wilderness becomes a fertile field, And the fertile field is considered as a forest.
"And I will give them one heart, and put a new spirit within them. And I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh,
"Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
Then he said to me, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel, saying, 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the LORD of armies.
"For it is not you who are speaking, but [it is] the Spirit of your Father who is speaking in you.
John responded to them all, saying, "As for me, I baptize you with water; but He is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to untie the straps of His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
"The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it is coming from and where it is going; so is everyone who has been born of the Spirit."
"For He whom God sent speaks the words of God; for He does not give the Spirit sparingly.
"It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh provides no benefit; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit, and are life.
And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit.
but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and as far as the remotest part of the earth."
and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.
Because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying out, "Abba! Father!"
And do not get drunk with wine, in which there is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,
For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.
how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
But God remembered Noah and all the animals and all the livestock that were with him in the ark; and God caused a wind to pass over the earth, and the water subsided.
So the LORD shifted [the wind] to a very strong west wind, which picked up the locusts and drove them into the Red Sea; not one locust was left in all the territory of Egypt.
Now a wind burst forth from the LORD and it brought quail from the sea, and dropped [them] beside the camp, about a day's journey on this [side] and a day's journey on the other [side] all around the camp, and about two cubits [deep] on the surface of the ground.
So He said, "Go out and stand on the mountain before the LORD." And behold, the LORD was passing by! And a great and powerful wind was tearing out the mountains and breaking the rocks in pieces before the LORD; [but] the LORD [was] not in the wind. And after the wind [there was] an earthquake, [but] the LORD [was] not in the earthquake.
And after the earthquake, a fire, [but] the LORD [was] not in the fire; and after the fire, a sound of a gentle blowing.
When Elijah heard [it,] he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. And behold, a voice [came] to him and said, "What are you doing here, Elijah?"
"When He imparted weight to the wind, And assessed the waters by measure,
The wicked are not so, But they are like chaff which the wind blows away.
He causes the mist to ascend from the ends of the earth, He makes lightning for the rain; He brings forth the wind from His treasuries.
Fire and hail, snow and clouds; Stormy wind, fulfilling His word;
Who has ascended into heaven and descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has wrapped the waters in His garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name or His Son's name? Surely you know!
Each will be like a refuge from the wind And a shelter from the storm, Like streams of water in a dry country, Like the shade of a huge rock in an exhausted land.
When He utters His voice, [there is] a roar of waters in the heavens, And He makes the clouds ascend from the end of the earth; He makes lightning for the rain, And brings out the wind from His storehouses.
For behold, He who forms mountains and creates the wind, And declares to a person what are His thoughts, He who makes dawn into darkness And treads on the high places of the earth, The LORD God of armies is His name.
When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.
And suddenly a noise like a violent rushing wind came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
And tongues [that looked] like fire appeared to them, distributing themselves, and [a tongue] rested on each one of them.
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with different tongues, as the Spirit was giving them [the ability] to speak out.
