"near, nigh," is used

(a) of place, e.g., Luk 19:11, "nigh;" Jhn 3:23; 11:54, "near;" Jhn 6:19, 23, "nigh;" metaphorically in Rom 10:8; Eph 2:13, 17, "nigh;"

(b) of time, e.g., Mat 24:32, 33, "nigh;" so Luk 21:30, 31; as a preposition, Hbr 6:8, "nigh unto (a curse)," and Hbr 8:13, "nigh unto (vanishing away)."

the comparative degree of No. 1, and the neuter of the adjective enguteros, used adverbially, occurs in Rom 13:11.
