Madness:
This word is used in its proper sense in Deu 28:34, John 10:20, 1Cr 14:23. It also denotes a reckless state of mind arising from various causes, as over-study (Ecc 1:17; 2:12), blind rage (Luk 6:11), or a depraved temper (Ecc 7:25; 9:3; 2Pe 2:16). David feigned madness (1Sa 21:13) at Gath because he "was sore afraid of Achish."
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
