Kirjathaim:
two cities; a double city. (1.) A city of refuge in Naphtali (1Ch 6:76).
(2.) A town on the east of Jordan (Gen 14:5; Deu 2:9,10). It was assigned to the tribe of Reuben (Num 32:37). In the time of Ezekiel (Eze 25:9) it was one of the four cities which formed the "glory of Moab" (Jer 48:1,23). It has been identified with el-Kureiyat, 11 miles south-west of Medeba, on the south slope of Jebel Attarus, the ancient Ataroth.
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
