Jehozabad:
je-hoz'-a-bad (yehozabhadh, "Yahweh has bestowed"):
(1) A servant of King Jehoash of Judah. According to 2Ki 12:21 (22), he was a son of Shomer, but 2Ch 24:26 makes him "son of Shimrith the Moabitess."
(2) A Korahite doorkeeper, son of Obed-edom (1Ch 26:4).
(3) A Benjamite, one of King Jehoshaphat's warriors (2Ch 17:18).
Jehozabad:
(whom Jehovah gave).
(1.) A Korhite Levite, second son of Obed‐edom, and one of the porters of the south gate of the temple and of the storehouse there in the time of David (1 Chronicles 26:4; 26:15 compared with Nehemiah 12:25). (B.C. 1014)
(2.) A Benjamite, captain of 180,000 armed men, in the days of King Jehoshaphat (2 Chronicles 17:18). (B.C. 910)
(3.) Son of Shomer or Shimrith, a Moabitish woman, who with another conspired against King Joash and slew him in his bed (2 Kings 2:21; 2 Chronicles 24:26). (B.C. 837)
