Jarmuth:
height. (1.) A town in the plain of Judah (Jos 15:35), originally the residence of one of the Canaanitish kings (10:3,5,23). It has been identified with the modern Yarmuk, a village about 7 miles north-east of Beit-Jibrin.
(2.) A Levitical city of the tribe of Issachar (Jos 21:29), supposed by some to be the Ramah of Samuel (1Sa 19:22).
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
