Pihahiroth:
a place before or at which the Israelites encamped, at the close of the third march from Rameses (the last place before they crossed the Red Sea) when they went out of Egypt (Exodus 14:2; 14:9; Numbers 35:7-8). It is an Egyptian word, signifying "the place where sedge grows."
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
