Jiphthahel:
(which God opens) The valley of, a valley which served as one of the landmarks for the boundary of both Zebulun (Joshua 19:14) and Asher (Joshua 19:27). Dr. Robinson suggests that Jiphthah‐el was identical with Jotapata, and that they survive in the modern Jefat, a village in the mountains of Galilee, halfway between the Bay of Accre and the Lake of Gennesareth.
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
