A Plea for Justice

Psa 82:1

Psa 82:1A Psalm of Asaph.

God stands in the congregation of the mighty;
He judges among the gods.[fn]

Psa 82:2

Psa 82:2How long will you judge unjustly,
And show partiality to the wicked? Selah

Psa 82:3

Psa 82:3Defend the poor and fatherless;
Do justice to the afflicted and needy.

Psa 82:4

Psa 82:4Deliver the poor and needy;
Free them from the hand of the wicked.

Psa 82:5

Psa 82:5They do not know, nor do they understand;
They walk about in darkness;
All the foundations of the earth are unstable.

Psa 82:6

Psa 82:6I said, “You are gods,[fn]
And all of you are children of the Most High.

Psa 82:7

Psa 82:7But you shall die like men,
And fall like one of the princes.”

Psa 82:8

Psa 82:8Arise, O God, judge the earth;
For You shall inherit all nations.
