Psalm 114 :: New King James Version (NKJV)

The Power of God in His Deliverance of Israel
(cf. Ex. 14:1–31 )
Psa 114:1When Israel went out of Egypt,
The house of Jacob from a people of strange language,
Psa 114:2Judah became His sanctuary,
And Israel His dominion.
Psa 114:3The sea saw it and fled;
Jordan turned back.
Psa 114:4The mountains skipped like rams,
The little hills like lambs.
Psa 114:5What ails you, O sea, that you fled?
O Jordan, that you turned back?
Psa 114:6O mountains, that you skipped like rams?
O little hills, like lambs?
Psa 114:7Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord,
At the presence of the God of Jacob,
Psa 114:8Who turned the rock into a pool of water,
The flint into a fountain of waters.
