Psalm 124 :: New International Version (NIV)

Psa 124:1A song of ascents. Of David. If the LORD had not been on our side— let Israel say—

Psa 124:2if the LORD had not been on our side when people attacked us,

Psa 124:3they would have swallowed us alive when their anger flared against us;

Psa 124:4the flood would have engulfed us, the torrent would have swept over us,

Psa 124:5the raging waters would have swept us away.

Psa 124:6Praise be to the LORD, who has not let us be torn by their teeth.

Psa 124:7We have escaped like a bird from the fowler’s snare; the snare has been broken, and we have escaped.

Psa 124:8Our help is in the name of the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
