Psalm 115 :: New English Translation (NET)

Psa 115:1

Psa 115:1Not to us, O LORD, not to us! But to your name bring honor, for the sake of your loyal love and faithfulness.

Psa 115:2

Psa 115:2Why should the nations say, "Where is their God?"

Psa 115:3

Psa 115:3Our God is in heaven! He does whatever he pleases!

Psa 115:4

Psa 115:4Their idols are made of silver and gold - they are man-made.

Psa 115:5

Psa 115:5They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see,

Psa 115:6

Psa 115:6ears, but cannot hear, noses, but cannot smell,

Psa 115:7

Psa 115:7hands, but cannot touch, feet, but cannot walk. They cannot even clear their throats.

Psa 115:8

Psa 115:8Those who make them will end up like them, as will everyone who trusts in them.

Psa 115:9

Psa 115:9O Israel, trust in the LORD! He is their deliverer and protector.

Psa 115:10

Psa 115:10O family of Aaron, trust in the LORD! He is their deliverer and protector.

Psa 115:11

Psa 115:11You loyal followers of the LORD, trust in the LORD! He is their deliverer and protector.

Psa 115:12

Psa 115:12The LORD takes notice of us, he will bless - he will bless the family of Israel, he will bless the family of Aaron.

Psa 115:13

Psa 115:13He will bless his loyal followers, both young and old.

Psa 115:14

Psa 115:14May he increase your numbers, yours and your children's!

Psa 115:15

Psa 115:15May you be blessed by the LORD, the creator of heaven and earth!

Psa 115:16

Psa 115:16The heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth he has given to mankind.

Psa 115:17

Psa 115:17The dead do not praise the LORD, nor do any of those who descend into the silence of death.

Psa 115:18

Psa 115:18But we will praise the LORD now and forevermore. Praise the LORD!
