Psalm 97 :: New American Standard Bible 1995 (NASB95)

The LORD'S Power and Dominion.

Psa 97:1The LORD [fn]reigns, let the earth rejoice;
Let the many [fn]islands be glad.
Psa 97:2Clouds and thick darkness surround Him;
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.
Psa 97:3Fire goes before Him
And burns up His adversaries round about.
Psa 97:4His lightnings lit up the world;
The earth saw and trembled.
Psa 97:5The mountains melted like wax at the presence of the LORD,
At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
Psa 97:6The heavens declare His righteousness,
And all the peoples have seen His glory.
Psa 97:7Let all those be ashamed who serve graven images,
Who boast themselves of idols;
[fn]Worship Him, all you [fn]gods.
Psa 97:8Zion [fn]heard this and was glad,
And the daughters of Judah have rejoiced
Because of Your judgments, O LORD.
Psa 97:9For You are the LORD Most High over all the earth;
You are exalted far above all [fn]gods.
Psa 97:10Hate evil, you who love the LORD,
Who preserves the souls of His godly ones;
He delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
Psa 97:11Light is sown like seed for the righteous
And gladness for the upright in heart.
Psa 97:12Be glad in the LORD, you righteous ones,
And give thanks [fn]to His holy name.
