Prayer for God's Mercy upon the Nation.

Psa 85:1For the choir director. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.
O LORD, You showed favor to Your land;
You [fn]restored the captivity of Jacob.

Psa 85:2

Psa 85:2You forgave the iniquity of Your people;
You covered all their sin. [fn]Selah.

Psa 85:3

Psa 85:3You withdrew all Your fury;
You turned away from Your burning anger.

Psa 85:4

Psa 85:4Restore us, O God of our salvation,
And cause Your indignation toward us to cease.

Psa 85:5

Psa 85:5Will You be angry with us forever?
Will You prolong Your anger to [fn]all generations?

Psa 85:6

Psa 85:6Will You not Yourself [fn]revive us again,
That Your people may rejoice in You?

Psa 85:7

Psa 85:7Show us Your lovingkindness, O LORD,
And grant us Your salvation.

Psa 85:8

Psa 85:8 [fn]I will hear what God the LORD will say;
For He will speak peace to His people, [fn]to His godly ones;
But let them not turn back to [fn]folly.

Psa 85:9

Psa 85:9Surely His salvation is near to those who [fn]fear Him,
That glory may dwell in our land.

Psa 85:10

Psa 85:10Lovingkindness and [fn]truth have met together;
Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

Psa 85:11

Psa 85:11 [fn]Truth springs from the earth,
And righteousness looks down from heaven.

Psa 85:12

Psa 85:12Indeed, the LORD will give what is good,
And our land will yield its produce.

Psa 85:13

Psa 85:13Righteousness will go before Him
And will make His footsteps into a way.
