Psalm 64 :: New American Standard Bible 1995 (NASB95)

Prayer for Deliverance from Secret Enemies.

Psa 64:1For the choir director. A Psalm of David.
Hear my voice, O God, in my [fn]complaint;
Preserve my life from dread of the enemy.
Psa 64:2Hide me from the secret counsel of evildoers,
From the tumult of those who do iniquity,
Psa 64:3Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword.
They aimed bitter speech as their arrow,
Psa 64:4To shoot [fn]from concealment at the blameless;
Suddenly they shoot at him, and do not fear.
Psa 64:5They [fn]hold fast to themselves an evil purpose;
They [fn]talk of laying snares secretly;
They say, “Who can see them?”
Psa 64:6They [fn]devise injustices, saying,
“We are [fn]ready with a well-conceived plot”;
For the [fn]inward thought and the heart of a man are [fn]deep.
Psa 64:7But God [fn]will shoot at them with an arrow;
Suddenly [fn]they will be wounded.
Psa 64:8So [fn]they [fn]will make him stumble;
Their own tongue is against them;
All who see them will shake the head.
Psa 64:9Then all men [fn]will fear,
And they [fn]will declare the work of God,
And [fn]will consider [fn]what He has done.
Psa 64:10The righteous man will be glad in the LORD and will take refuge in Him;
And all the upright in heart will glory.
