Psalm 47 :: New American Standard Bible 1995 (NASB95)

God the King of the Earth.

Psa 47:1For the choir director. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.
O clap your hands, all peoples;
Shout to God with the voice of [fn]joy.
Psa 47:2For the LORD Most High is to be feared,
A great King over all the earth.
Psa 47:3He subdues peoples under us
And nations under our feet.
Psa 47:4He chooses our inheritance for us,
The glory of Jacob whom He loves. [fn]Selah.
Psa 47:5God has ascended [fn]with a shout,
The LORD, [fn]with the sound of a trumpet.
Psa 47:6Sing praises to God, sing praises;
Sing praises to our King, sing praises.
Psa 47:7For God is the King of all the earth;
Sing praises with a [fn]skillful psalm.
Psa 47:8God reigns over the nations,
God [fn]sits on His holy throne.
Psa 47:9The [fn]princes of the people have assembled themselves as the people of the God of Abraham,
For the shields of the earth belong to God;
He [fn]is highly exalted.
