Psalm 141 :: New American Standard Bible 1995 (NASB95)

An Evening Prayer for Sanctification and Protection.

Psa 141:1A Psalm of David.
O LORD, I call upon You; hasten to me!
Give ear to my voice when I call to You!
Psa 141:2May my prayer be [fn]counted as incense before You;
The lifting up of my hands as the evening offering.
Psa 141:3Set a guard, O LORD, [fn]over my mouth;
Keep watch over the door of my lips.
Psa 141:4Do not incline my heart to any evil thing,
To practice deeds [fn]of wickedness
With men who do iniquity;
And do not let me eat of their delicacies.
Psa 141:5Let the righteous smite me [fn]in kindness and reprove me;
It is oil upon the head;
Do not let my head refuse it,
[fn]For still my prayer is [fn]against their wicked deeds.
Psa 141:6Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock,
And they hear my words, for they are pleasant.
Psa 141:7As when one plows and breaks open the earth,
Our bones have been scattered at the mouth of [fn]Sheol.
Psa 141:8For my eyes are toward You, O [fn]GOD, the Lord;
In You I take refuge; do not [fn]leave me defenseless.
Psa 141:9Keep me from the [fn]jaws of the trap which they have set for me,
And from the snares of those who do iniquity.
Psa 141:10Let the wicked fall into their own nets,
While I pass by [fn]safely.
