Psalm 129 :: New American Standard Bible 1995 (NASB95)

Prayer for the Overthrow of Zion's Enemies.

Psa 129:1A Song of Ascents.
[fn]Many times they have [fn]persecuted me from my youth up,”
Let Israel now say,
Psa 129:2[fn]Many times they have [fn]persecuted me from my youth up;
Yet they have not prevailed against me.
Psa 129:3“The plowers plowed upon my back;
They lengthened their furrows.”
Psa 129:4The LORD is righteous;
He has cut in two the cords of the wicked.
Psa 129:5May all who hate Zion
Be put to shame and turned backward;
Psa 129:6Let them be like grass upon the housetops,
Which withers before it [fn]grows up;
Psa 129:7With which the reaper does not fill his [fn]hand,
Or the binder of sheaves his bosom;
Psa 129:8Nor do those who pass by say,
“The blessing of the LORD be upon you;
We bless you in the name of the LORD.”
