Psalm 64 :: New American Standard Bible 2020 (NASB20)

Prayer for Rescue from Secret Enemies.

Psa 64:1

For the music director. A Psalm of David.

Hear my voice, God, in my [fn]complaint;

Protect my life from dread of the enemy.

Psa 64:2

Hide me from the secret discussion of evildoers,

From the restlessness of the workers of injustice,

Psa 64:3

Who have sharpened their tongues like a sword.

They aimed bitter speech as their arrows,

Psa 64:4

To shoot [fn]from concealment at the innocent;

Suddenly they shoot at him, and do not fear.

Psa 64:5

They make firm for themselves an evil [fn]purpose;

They [fn]talk of setting snares secretly;

They say, “Who can see them?”

Psa 64:6

They [fn]devise injustices, saying,

“We are [fn]ready with a well-conceived plot”;

For the [fn]inward thought and the heart of a person are [fn]deep.

Psa 64:7

But God [fn]will shoot an arrow at them;

Suddenly [fn]they will be wounded.

Psa 64:8

So [fn]they [fn]will make him stumble;

Their own tongue is against them;

All who see them will shake their heads.

Psa 64:9

Then all people [fn]will fear,

And they [fn]will declare the work of God,

And [fn]will consider [fn]what He has done.

Psa 64:10

The righteous person will be glad in the LORD and take refuge in Him;

And all the upright in heart will boast.
