Psalm 129 :: New American Standard Bible 2020 (NASB20)

Prayer for the Overthrow of Zion’s Enemies.

Psa 129:1

A Song of Ascents.

[fn]Many times they have attacked me from my youth up,”

Let Israel say,

Psa 129:2

[fn]Many times they have attacked me from my youth up;

Yet they have not prevailed against me.

Psa 129:3

“The plowers plowed upon my back;

They lengthened their furrows.”

Psa 129:4

The LORD is righteous;

He has cut up the ropes of the wicked.

Psa 129:5

May all who hate Zion

Be put to shame and turned backward;

Psa 129:6

May they be like grass upon the housetops,

Which withers before it [fn]grows up;

Psa 129:7

With which the harvester does not fill his [fn]hand,

Or the binder of sheaves his [fn]arms;

Psa 129:8

Nor do those who pass by say,

“The blessing of the LORD be upon you;

We bless you in the name of the LORD.”
