Numbers 34 :: New American Standard Bible 2020 (NASB20)

Instruction for Apportioning Canaan

Then the LORD^H3068 spoke^H1696 to Moses^H4872, saying^H559,

Num 34:2“Command the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘When you enter the land of Canaan, this is the land that shall fall to you as an inheritance, that is, the land of Canaan according to its borders.

Num 34:3

Num 34:3‘Your southern region shall [fn]extend from the wilderness of Zin along the side of Edom, and your southern border shall [fn]extend from the end of the Salt Sea eastward.

Num 34:4

Num 34:4‘Then your border shall change direction from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim and [fn]continue to Zin, and its [fn]termination shall be to the south of Kadesh-barnea; and it shall [fn]reach Hazaraddar and [fn]continue to Azmon.

Num 34:5

Num 34:5‘Then the border shall change direction from Azmon to the brook of Egypt, and its termination shall be at the sea.

Num 34:6

‘As for the western^H3220 border^H1366, you shall have^H1961 the Great^H1419 Sea^H3220, that is, its [fn]coastline^H1366; this^H2088 shall be your western^H3220 border^H1366.

Num 34:7

‘And this^H2088 shall be your northern^H6828 border^H1366: you shall draw^H8376 your boundary^H8376 from the Great^H1419 Sea^H3220 to Mount^H2022 Hor^H2023.

Num 34:8

Num 34:8‘You shall draw a boundary from Mount Hor to the [fn]Lebo-hamath, and the termination of the border shall be at Zedad;

Num 34:9

Num 34:9and the border shall proceed to Ziphron, and its termination shall be at Hazar-enan. This shall be your northern border.

Num 34:10

‘For your eastern^H6924 border^H1366 you shall also draw^H8376 a^H8376 boundary^H8376 from Hazar-enan^H2704 to Shepham^H8221,

Num 34:11

Num 34:11and the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain; and the border shall go down and reach to the slope on the east side of the Sea of Chinnereth.

Num 34:12

Num 34:12‘And the border shall go down to the Jordan, and its termination shall be at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land according to its borders on all sides.’”

Num 34:13

So Moses^H4872 commanded^H6680 the sons^H1121 of Israel^H3478, saying^H559, “This^H2088 is the land^H776 that you are to possess^H5157 by lot^H1486, which^H834 the LORD^H3068 has commanded^H6680 to give^H5414 to the nine^H8672 and a half^H2677 tribes^H4294.

Num 34:14

Num 34:14“For the tribe of the sons of Reuben have received theirs according to their fathers’ households, and the tribe of the sons of Gad according to their fathers’ households, and the half-tribe of Manasseh have received their possession.

Num 34:15

Num 34:15“The two and a half tribes have received their possession across the Jordan opposite Jericho, eastward toward the sunrise.”

Num 34:16

Then the LORD^H3068 spoke^H1696 to Moses^H4872, saying^H559,

Num 34:17

Num 34:17“These are the names of the men who shall assign the land to you as an inheritance: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun.

Num 34:18

Num 34:18“And you shall take one leader of each tribe to assign the land as an inheritance.

Num 34:19

Num 34:19“These are the names of the men: of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.

Num 34:20

Num 34:20“Of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, Samuel the son of Ammihud.

Num 34:21

Num 34:21“Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon.

Num 34:22

Num 34:22“And of the tribe of the sons of Dan, a leader, Bukki the son of Jogli.

Num 34:23

Num 34:23“Of the sons of Joseph: of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, a leader, Hanniel the son of Ephod.

Num 34:24

Num 34:24“Of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, a leader, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan.

Num 34:25

Num 34:25“Of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, a leader, Elizaphan the son of Parnach.

Num 34:26

Num 34:26“Of the tribe of the sons of Issachar, a leader, Paltiel the son of Azzan.

Num 34:27

Num 34:27“Of the tribe of the sons of Asher, a leader, Ahihud the son of Shelomi.

Num 34:28

Num 34:28“Of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, a leader, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.”

Num 34:29

Num 34:29These are the ones whom the LORD commanded to apportion the inheritance to the sons of Israel in the land of Canaan.
