A Paralyzed Man Healed

Getting^G1684 into a boat^G4143, Jesus crossed^G1276 over^G1276 the Sea of Galilee and came^G2064 to His own^G2398 city^G4172.

Mat 9:2

And they brought^G4374 to Him a paralyzed^G3885 man^G3885 lying^G906 on a stretcher^G2825. And seeing^G3708 their faith^G4102, Jesus^G2424 said^G3004 to the man^G3885 who was paralyzed^G3885, “Take^G2293 courage^G2293, [fn]son^G5043; your sins^G266 are forgiven^G863.”

Mat 9:3And some of the scribes said [fn]to themselves, “This man is blaspheming!”

Mat 9:4And Jesus, perceiving their thoughts, said, “Why are you thinking evil in your hearts?

Mat 9:5“For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’?

Mat 9:6

Mat 9:6“But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—then He *said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, pick up your stretcher and go home.”

Mat 9:7

Mat 9:7And he got up and [fn]went home.

Mat 9:8

Mat 9:8But when the crowds saw this, they were [fn]awestruck, and they glorified God, who had given such authority to men.

Mat 9:9

Then^G2532 it happened^G1096 that as [fn]Jesus^G2424 was reclining^G345 at the table in the house^G3614, behold^G2400, many^G4183 tax^G5057 collectors^G5057 and [fn]sinners^G268 came^G2064 and began dining^G4873 with Jesus^G2424 and His disciples^G3101.

Mat 9:11

Mat 9:11And when the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, “Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?”

Mat 9:12

Mat 9:12But when Jesus heard this, He said, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick.

Mat 9:13

Mat 9:13“Now go and learn [fn]what this means: ‘I DESIRE [fn]COMPASSION, [fn]RATHER THAN SACRIFICE,’ for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Mat 9:15And Jesus said to them, “The [fn]attendants of the groom cannot mourn as long as the groom is with them, can they? But the days will come when the groom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.

Mat 9:16“But no one puts a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for [fn]the patch pulls away from the garment, and a worse tear results.

Mat 9:17

Mat 9:17“Nor do people put new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wineskins burst, and the wine pours out and the wineskins are ruined; but they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.”

Mat 9:19Jesus got up from the table and began to accompany him, along with His disciples.

Mat 9:21for she was [fn]saying [fn]to herself, “If I only touch His cloak, I will [fn]get well.”

Mat 9:22

Mat 9:22But Jesus, turning and seeing her, said, “Daughter, take courage; your faith has [fn]made you well.” And [fn]at once the woman was [fn]made well.

When Jesus^G2424 came^G2064 into the [fn]official’s^G758 house^G3614 and saw^G3708 the flute^G834 players^G834 and the crowd^G3793 in^G2350 noisy^G2350 disorder^G2350,

Mat 9:24

Mat 9:24He said, “Leave; for the girl has not died, but is asleep.” And they began laughing at Him.

Mat 9:25

Mat 9:25But when the crowd had been sent out, He entered and took her by the hand, and the girl [fn]got up.

Mat 9:26And this news spread throughout that land.

Mat 9:28

Mat 9:28And after He entered the house, the men who were blind came up to Him, and Jesus *said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They *said to Him, “Yes, Lord.”

Mat 9:29

Mat 9:29Then He touched their eyes, saying, “[fn]It shall be done for you according to your faith.”

Mat 9:30

Mat 9:30And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, saying, “See that no one knows about this!”

Mat 9:31

Mat 9:31But they went out and spread the news about Him throughout that land.

Mat 9:32

And as they were going^G1831 out^G1831, behold^G2400, a demon-possessed^G1139 man^G444 who was unable^G2974 to speak^G2974 [fn]was brought^G4374 to Him.

Mat 9:33

Mat 9:33And after the demon was cast out, the man who was previously unable to speak talked; and the crowds were amazed, and were saying, “Nothing like this has ever [fn]been seen in Israel.”

Mat 9:34

Mat 9:34But the Pharisees were saying, “He casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons.”

Mat 9:35

Jesus^G2424 was going^G4013 through^G4013 all^G3956 the cities^G4172 and villages^G2968, teaching^G1321 in their synagogues^G4864 and proclaiming^G2784 the gospel^G2098 of the kingdom^G932, and healing^G2323 every^G3956 disease^G3554 and every^G3956 sickness^G3119.

Mat 9:36

Seeing^G3708 the crowds^G3793, He felt^G4697 compassion^G4697 for them, because^G3754 they were [fn]distressed^G4660 and downcast^G4496, like^G5616 sheep^G4263 [fn]without^G3361^G2192 a shepherd^G4166.

Mat 9:37

Mat 9:37Then He *said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.

Mat 9:38“Therefore, plead with the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”
