Jesus Is Risen!

(Mar 16:1–8; Luk 24:1–12; Jhn 20:1–10 )

Now^G1161 after^G3796 the Sabbath^G4521, as it began to dawn^G2020 toward^G1519 the first^G1520 day of the week^G4521, Mary^G3137 Magdalene^G3094 and the other^G243 Mary^G3137 came^G2064 to look^G2334 at the tomb^G5028.

Mat 28:2

Mat 28:2And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone, and sat upon it.

Mat 28:3

Mat 28:3And his appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.

Mat 28:4

Mat 28:4The guards shook from fear of him and became like dead men.

Mat 28:5

Mat 28:5And the angel said to the women, “[fn]Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified.

Mat 28:6

Mat 28:6“He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying.

Mat 28:7

Mat 28:7“And go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you to Galilee. There you will see Him; behold, I have told you.”

Mat 28:8

And they left^G565 the tomb^G3419 quickly^G5035 with fear^G5401 and great^G3173 joy^G5479, and ran^G5143 to report^G518 to His disciples^G3101.

Mat 28:9

Mat 28:9And behold, Jesus met them [fn]and said, “[fn]Rejoice!” And they came up and took hold of His feet, and worshiped Him.

Mat 28:10

Mat 28:10Then Jesus *said to them, “[fn]Do not be afraid; go, bring word to My brothers to leave for Galilee, and there they will see Me.”

Mat 28:11

Now^G1161 while they were^G4198 on^G4198 their way^G4198, some^G5100 of the men from the guard^G2892 came^G2064 into the city^G4172 and reported^G518 to the chief^G749 priests^G749 all^G537 that had happened^G1096.

Mat 28:12

Mat 28:12And when they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers,

Mat 28:13

Mat 28:13and said, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came at night and stole Him while we were asleep.’

Mat 28:14“And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will appease him and [fn]keep you out of trouble.”

Mat 28:15

Mat 28:15And they took the money and did as they had been instructed; and this story was widely spread among the Jews and is to this day.

Mat 28:16

Mat 28:17

Mat 28:17And when they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some [fn]were doubtful.

Mat 28:18And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.

Mat 28:19

Mat 28:19“[fn]Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

Mat 28:20

Mat 28:20teaching them to [fn]follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you [fn]always, to the end of the age.”
