Mat 18:2

Mat 18:2And He called a child to Himself and set him among them,

Mat 18:3and said, “Truly I say to you, unless you [fn]change and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 18:4“So whoever will humble himself like this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 18:5“And whoever receives one such child in My name, receives Me;

Mat 18:6

Mat 18:6but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to [fn]sin, it is better for him that a [fn]heavy millstone be hung around his neck, and that he be drowned in the depths of the sea.

Stumbling Blocks

Mat 18:7

“Woe^G3759 to the world^G2889 because^G575 of its [fn]stumbling^G4625 blocks^G4625! For it is inevitable^G318 that [fn]stumbling^G4625 blocks^G4625 come^G2064; but woe^G3759 to the person^G444 through^G1223 whom^G3739 the [fn]stumbling^G4625 block^G4625 comes^G2064!

Mat 18:8

“And if^G1487 your hand^G5495 or^G2228 your foot^G4228 is causing^G4624 you to^G4624 sin^G4624, cut^G1581 it off^G1581 and throw^G906 it away^G575 from you; it is better^G2570 for you to enter^G1525 life^G2222 maimed^G2948 or^G2228 without^G5560 a^G5560 foot^G5560, than^G2228 to have^G2192 two^G1417 hands^G5495 or^G2228 two^G1417 feet^G4228 and be thrown^G906 into the eternal^G166 fire^G4442.

Mat 18:9

Mat 18:9“And if your eye is causing you to sin, tear it out and throw it away from you. It is better for you to enter life with one eye, than to have two eyes and be thrown into the [fn]fiery hell.

Mat 18:13“And if it turns out that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that have not gone astray.

Mat 18:16“But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that ON THE [fn]TESTIMONY OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY [fn]MATTER MAY BE CONFIRMED.

Mat 18:17

Mat 18:17“And if he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, he is to be to you as [fn]a Gentile and [fn]a tax collector.

Mat 18:18

Mat 18:18“Truly I say to you, whatever you [fn]bind on earth [fn]shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you [fn]loose on earth [fn]shall have been loosed in heaven.

Mat 18:19

“Again^G3825 I say^G3004 to you, that if^G1437 two^G1417 of you agree^G4856 on earth^G1093 about^G4012 anything^G3956^G4229 that they may ask^G154, it shall be done^G1096 for them [fn]by My Father^G3962 who is in heaven^G3772.

Mat 18:20“For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.”

Mat 18:21

Then^G5119 Peter^G4074 came^G4334 up^G4334 and said^G3004 to Him, “Lord^G2962, how^G4212 many^G4212 times^G4212 shall my brother^G80 sin^G264 against^G1519 me and I still forgive^G863 him? Up to seven^G2034 times^G2034?”

Mat 18:22Jesus *said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to [fn]seventy-seven times.

Mat 18:23

“For this^G3778 reason^G1223 the kingdom^G932 of heaven^G3772 [fn]is^G3666 like^G3666 a king^G935 who^G3739 wanted^G2309 to settle^G4868 accounts^G3056 with his slaves^G1401.

Mat 18:24“And when he had begun to settle them, one who owed him [fn]ten thousand talents was brought to him.

Mat 18:25“But since he [fn]did not have the means to repay, his master commanded that he be sold, along with his wife and children and all that he had, and repayment be made.

Mat 18:26

Mat 18:26“So the slave fell to the ground and prostrated himself before him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you everything.’

Mat 18:27“And the master of that slave felt compassion, and he released him and forgave him the [fn]debt.

Mat 18:28

Mat 18:28“But that slave went out and found one of his fellow slaves who owed him a hundred [fn]denarii; and he seized him and began to choke him, saying, ‘Pay back what you owe!’

Mat 18:29

Mat 18:29“So his fellow slave fell to the ground and began to plead with him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you.’

Mat 18:30

Mat 18:30“But he was unwilling, [fn]and went and threw him in prison until he would pay back what was owed.

Mat 18:31

Mat 18:31“So when his fellow slaves saw what had happened, they were deeply grieved and came and reported to their master all that had happened.

Mat 18:32

Mat 18:32“Then summoning him, his master *said to him, ‘You wicked slave, I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me.

Mat 18:33

Mat 18:33‘Should you not also have had mercy on your fellow slave, in the same way that I had mercy on you?’

Mat 18:34

Mat 18:34“And his master, moved with anger, handed him over to the [fn]torturers until he would repay all that was owed him.

Mat 18:35

Mat 18:35“My heavenly Father will also do the same to you, if each of you does not forgive his brother from your [fn]heart.”
