Rules concerning Assessments

Again, the LORD^H3068 spoke^H1696 to Moses^H4872, saying^H559,

Lev 27:2“Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘When someone makes an explicit vow, he shall be valued according to your assessment of persons belonging to the LORD.

Lev 27:3

Lev 27:3‘If your assessment is of a male from twenty years even to sixty years old, then your assessment shall be fifty shekels of silver, by the shekel of the sanctuary.

Lev 27:4

Lev 27:4‘Or if [fn]the person is a female, then your assessment shall be thirty shekels.

Lev 27:5

Lev 27:5‘And if the person is from five years even to twenty years old, then your assessment for a male shall be twenty shekels, and for a female, ten shekels.

Lev 27:6

Lev 27:6‘But if the person is from a month even up to five years old, then your assessment shall be five shekels of silver for a male, and for a female your assessment shall be three shekels of silver.

Lev 27:7

Lev 27:7‘If the person is from sixty years old and upward, if a male, then your assessment shall be fifteen shekels, and for a female, ten shekels.

Lev 27:8

Lev 27:8‘But if he is poorer than your assessment, then he shall be presented before the priest, and the priest shall assess him; according to [fn]the means of the one who vowed, the priest shall assess him.

Lev 27:9

‘Now if^H518 it is an animal^H929 of the kind that [fn]one can present^H7126 as an offering^H7133 to the LORD^H3068, any^H3605 such^H834 animal that one gives^H5414 to the LORD^H3068 shall be holy^H6944.

Lev 27:10

Lev 27:10‘He shall not replace it nor exchange it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good; yet if he does exchange animal for animal, then both it and its substitute shall become holy.

Lev 27:11

Lev 27:11‘If, however, it is any unclean animal of the kind which [fn]one does not present as an offering to the LORD, then he shall place the animal before the priest.

Lev 27:12

Lev 27:12‘And the priest shall assess it [fn]as either good or bad; as you, the priest, assess it, so shall it be.

Lev 27:13

Lev 27:13‘But if he should ever want to redeem it, then he shall add a fifth of it to your assessment.

Lev 27:14

‘Now if^H3588 someone^H376 consecrates^H6942 his house^H1004 as holy^H6944 to the LORD^H3068, then the priest^H3548 shall assess^H6186 it [fn]as either^H996 good^H2896 or^H996 bad^H7451; as the priest^H3548 assesses^H6186 it, so^H3651 shall it stand^H6965.

Lev 27:15

Lev 27:15‘Yet if the one who consecrates it should want to redeem his house, then he shall add a fifth of your assessment price to it, so that it may be his.

Lev 27:16

‘Again, if^H518 someone^H376 consecrates^H6942 to the LORD^H3068 part of the field^H7704 of his own property^H272, then your assessment^H6187 shall be [fn]proportionate^H6310 to the seed^H2233 needed for it: a [fn]homer^H2563 of barley^H8184 seed^H2233 at fifty^H2572 shekels^H8255 of silver^H3701.

Lev 27:17

Lev 27:17‘If he consecrates his field as of the year of jubilee, according to your assessment it shall stand.

Lev 27:18

Lev 27:18‘If he consecrates his field after the jubilee, however, then the priest shall calculate the price for [fn]him [fn]proportionate to the years that are left until the year of jubilee; and it shall be deducted from your assessment.

Lev 27:19

Lev 27:19‘If the one who consecrates it should ever want to redeem the field, then he shall add a fifth of your assessment price to it, so that it may belong to him.

Lev 27:20

Lev 27:20‘Yet if he does not redeem the field, [fn]but has sold the field to another person, it may no longer be redeemed;

Lev 27:21

Lev 27:21and when it [fn]reverts in the jubilee, the field shall be holy to the LORD, like a field banned from secular use; it shall be for the priest as his property.

Lev 27:22

Lev 27:22‘Or if he consecrates to the LORD a field which he has bought, which is not a part of the field of his own property,

Lev 27:23

Lev 27:23then the priest shall calculate for [fn]him the amount of your assessment up to the year of jubilee; and he shall on that day give your assessment as holy to the LORD.

Lev 27:24

Lev 27:24‘In the year of jubilee the field shall return to the one from whom he bought it, to whom the possession of the land belongs.

Lev 27:25

Lev 27:25‘Every assessment of yours, moreover, shall be by the shekel of the sanctuary. The shekel shall be twenty gerahs.

Lev 27:26

‘However^H389, a firstborn^H1060 among animals^H929, which^H834 as^H1069 a^H1069 firstborn^H1069 belongs^H1069 to the LORD^H3068, no^H3808 one^H376 may consecrate^H6942; whether^H518 ox^H7794 or^H518 sheep^H7716, it is the LORD’S^H3068.

Lev 27:27

Lev 27:27‘But if it is among the unclean animals, then he shall [fn]redeem it according to your assessment and add to it a fifth of it; and if it is not redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your assessment.

Lev 27:28

‘Nevertheless^H389, [fn]anything^H3605 which^H834 someone^H376 sets^H2763 apart^H2763 to the LORD^H3068 for^H2763 [fn]destruction^H2763 out of all^H3605 that he has, of man^H120 or animal^H929 or of the field^H7704 of his own property^H272, shall not be sold^H4376 nor redeemed^H1350. Anything^H3605 set^H2764 apart^H2764 for^H2764 destruction^H2764 is most^H6944 holy^H6944 to the LORD^H3068.

Lev 27:29

Lev 27:29‘No [fn]one who may have been [fn]set apart among mankind shall be ransomed; he must be put to death.

Lev 27:30

‘Now all^H3605 the tithe^H4643 of the land^H776, of the seed^H2233 of the land^H776 or of the fruit^H6529 of the tree^H6086, is the LORD’S^H3068; it is holy^H6944 to the LORD^H3068.

Lev 27:31

Lev 27:31‘If, therefore, someone should ever want to redeem part of his tithe, he shall add to it a fifth of it.

Lev 27:32

Lev 27:32‘For every tenth part of herd or flock, whatever passes under the rod, the tenth one shall be holy to the LORD.

Lev 27:33

Lev 27:33‘He is not to be concerned whether it is good or bad, nor shall he exchange it; yet if he does exchange it, then both it and its substitute shall become holy. It shall not be redeemed.’”

Lev 27:34

These^H428 are the commandments^H4687 which^H834 the LORD^H3068 commanded^H6680 Moses^H4872 for the sons^H1121 of Israel^H3478 on Mount^H2022 Sinai^H5514.
