Message to Baruch

This is the message^H1697 which^H834 Jeremiah^H3414 the prophet^H5030 spoke^H1696 to Baruch^H1263 the son^H1121 of Neriah^H5374, when he had written^H3789 these^H428 words^H1697 in a book^H5612 [fn]at Jeremiah’s^H3414 dictation^H6310, in the fourth^H7243 year^H8141 of Jehoiakim^H3079 the son^H1121 of Josiah^H2977, king^H4428 of Judah^H3063, saying^H559:

Jer 45:2

Jer 45:2“This is what the LORD, the God of Israel says to you, Baruch:

Jer 45:3

Jer 45:3‘You said, “Oh, woe to me! For the LORD has added grief to my pain; I am weary with my groaning and have found no rest.”’

Jer 45:4

Jer 45:4“This is what you are to say to him: ‘This is what the LORD says: “Behold, what I have built I am going to tear down, and what I have planted I am going to uproot, that is, all the people of the land.”

Jer 45:5

Jer 45:5‘But as for you, are you seeking great things for yourself? Do not seek them; for behold, I am going to bring disaster on all flesh,’ declares the LORD, ‘but I will give your life to you as plunder in all the places where you may go.’”
