Descendants of Noah

(1Ch 1:5–27 )

Now these^H428 are the records of the generations^H8435 of the sons^H1121 of Noah^H5146: Shem^H8035, Ham^H2526, and Japheth^H3315; and sons^H1121 were born^H3205 to them after^H310 the flood^H3999.

Gen 10:2

The sons^H1121 of Japheth^H3315 were Gomer^H1586, Magog^H4031, Madai^H4074, Javan^H3120, Tubal^H8422, Meshech^H4902, and Tiras^H8494.

Gen 10:3

Gen 10:3The sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, [fn]Riphath, and Togarmah.

Gen 10:4

Gen 10:4The sons of Javan were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and [fn]Dodanim.

Gen 10:5

Gen 10:5From these the people of the coastlands of the nations [fn]were separated into their lands, every one according to his language, according to their families, into their nations.

Gen 10:6

The sons^H1121 of Ham^H2526 were Cush^H3568, Mizraim^H4714, Put^H6316, and Canaan^H3667.

Gen 10:7

Gen 10:7The sons of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca; and the sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan.

Gen 10:8

Gen 10:8Now Cush fathered Nimrod; he [fn]became a mighty one on the earth.

Gen 10:9

Gen 10:9He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the LORD.”

Gen 10:10

Gen 10:10And the beginning of his kingdom was [fn]Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

Gen 10:11

Gen 10:11From that land he went to Assyria, and built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah,

Gen 10:12

Gen 10:12and Resen between Nineveh and Calah; that is the great city.

Gen 10:13

Gen 10:13Mizraim fathered Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim,

Gen 10:14

Gen 10:14Pathrusim, Casluhim (from whom came the Philistines), and Caphtorim.

Gen 10:15

Canaan^H3667 fathered^H3205 Sidon^H6721, his firstborn^H1060, and Heth^H2845,

Gen 10:16

Gen 10:16the Jebusite, the Amorite, the Girgashite,

Gen 10:17

Gen 10:17the Hivite, the Arkite, the Sinite,

Gen 10:18

Gen 10:18the Arvadite, the Zemarite, and the Hamathite; and afterward the families of the Canaanite were spread abroad.

Gen 10:19

Gen 10:19The territory of the Canaanite [fn]extended from Sidon [fn]going toward Gerar, as far as Gaza; and [fn]going toward Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.

Gen 10:20

Gen 10:20These are the sons of Ham, according to their families, according to their languages, by their lands, and by their nations.

Gen 10:21

Also^H1571 to Shem^H8035, the father^H1 of all^H3605 the children^H1121 of Eber^H5677, and the older^H1419 brother^H251 of Japheth^H3315, children were born^H3205.

Gen 10:22

Gen 10:22The sons of Shem were Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram.

Gen 10:23

Gen 10:23The sons of Aram were Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash.

Gen 10:24

Gen 10:24Arpachshad fathered Shelah; and Shelah fathered Eber.

Gen 10:25

Gen 10:25Two sons were born to Eber; the name of the one was [fn]Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.

Gen 10:26Joktan fathered Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,

Gen 10:27

Gen 10:27Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,

Gen 10:28

Gen 10:28 [fn]Obal, Abimael, Sheba,

Gen 10:29

Gen 10:29Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab; all of these were the sons of Joktan.

Gen 10:30

Gen 10:30Now their [fn]settlement [fn]extended from Mesha [fn]going toward Sephar, the hill country of the east.

Gen 10:31

Gen 10:31These are the sons of Shem, according to their families, according to their languages, by their lands, and according to their nations.

Gen 10:32

These^H428 are the families^H4940 of the sons^H1121 of Noah^H5146, according to their descendants^H8435, by their nations^H1471; and out of these^H428 the nations^H1471 were separated^H6504 on the earth^H776 after^H310 the flood^H3999.
