Ezekiel 6 :: New American Standard Bible 2020 (NASB20)

Idolatrous Worship Denounced

Now the word^H1697 of the LORD^H3068 came^H1961 to me, saying^H559,

Eze 6:2“Son of man, set your face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them

Eze 6:3and say, ‘Mountains of Israel, listen to the word of the Lord [fn]GOD! This is what the Lord [fn]GOD says to the mountains, the hills, the ravines, and the valleys: “Behold, I Myself am going to bring a sword against you, and I will destroy your high places.

Eze 6:4

Eze 6:4“So your altars will become deserted and your incense altars will be smashed; and I will make your slain fall in front of your idols.

Eze 6:5

Eze 6:5“I will also lay the dead bodies of the sons of Israel in front of their idols; and I will scatter your bones around your altars.

Eze 6:6

Eze 6:6“[fn]Everywhere you live, cities will be in ruins and the high places will be deserted, so that your altars will be in ruins and [fn]deserted, your idols will be broken and brought to an end, your incense altars will be cut down, and your works wiped out.

Eze 6:7

Eze 6:7“The slain will fall among you, and you will know that I am the LORD.

Eze 6:8

“However, I will leave^H3498 a^H3498 remnant^H3498, in that you will have^H1961 those who^H6412 escaped^H6412 the sword^H2719 among the nations^H1471 when you are scattered^H2219 among the countries^H776.

Eze 6:9

Eze 6:9“Then those of you who escape will remember Me among the nations to which they will be taken captive, how I have [fn]been hurt by their adulterous hearts which turned away from Me, and by their eyes which committed infidelity with their idols; and they will loathe themselves in their own sight for the evils which they have committed, for all their abominations.

Eze 6:10

Eze 6:10“Then they will know that I am the LORD; I have not said in vain that I would inflict this disaster on them.”’

Eze 6:11

“This^H3541 is^H3541 what^H3541 the Lord^H136 [fn]GOD^H3068 says^H559: ‘Clap^H5221 your hands^H3709, stamp^H7554 your foot^H7272 and say^H559, “Woe^H253, because^H413 of all^H3605 the evil^H7451 abominations^H8441 of the house^H1004 of Israel^H3478, which^H834 will fall^H5307 by the sword^H2719, famine^H7458, and plague^H1698!

Eze 6:12

Eze 6:12“Anyone who is far away will die by the plague, anyone who is near will fall by the sword, and anyone who remains and is spared from these will die by the famine. So I will expend My wrath on them.

Eze 6:13

Eze 6:13“Then you will know that I am the LORD, when their dead are among their idols around their altars, on every high hill, on all the tops of the mountains, under every leafy tree and under every massive oak with thick branches—the places where they offered a soothing aroma to all their idols.

Eze 6:14

Eze 6:14“So through all their dwelling places I will stretch out My hand against them and make the land more desolate and waste than the wilderness toward Diblah; so they will know that I am the LORD.”’”
