The Sabbath Emphasized

Then Moses^H4872 assembled^H6950 all^H3605 the congregation^H5712 of the sons^H1121 of Israel^H3478, and said^H559 to them, “These^H428 are the things^H1697 that the LORD^H3068 has commanded^H6680 you to [fn]do^H6213:

Exo 35:2

“For six^H8337 days^H3117 work^H4399 may be done^H6213, but on the seventh^H7637 day^H3117 you shall have^H1961 a holy^H6944 day, a Sabbath^H7676 of complete^H7677 rest^H7677 to the LORD^H3068; whoever^H3605 does^H6213 any work^H4399 on it shall be put^H4191 to^H4191 death^H4191.

Exo 35:3“You shall not kindle a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day.”

Exo 35:4

Moses^H4872 spoke^H559 to all^H3605 the congregation^H5712 of the sons^H1121 of Israel^H3478, saying^H559, “This^H2088 is the thing^H1697 which^H834 the LORD^H3068 has commanded^H6680, saying^H559,

Exo 35:5‘Take from among you a [fn]contribution to the LORD; whoever is of a willing heart is to bring it as the LORD’S [fn]contribution: gold, silver, and [fn]bronze,

Exo 35:6and [fn]violet, purple, and scarlet material, fine linen, goats’ hair,

Exo 35:7

Exo 35:7and rams’ skins [fn]dyed red, and [fn]fine leather, and acacia wood,

Exo 35:8

Exo 35:8and oil for lighting, and spices for the anointing oil, and for the fragrant incense,

Exo 35:9

Exo 35:9and onyx stones and setting stones for the ephod and for the [fn]breastpiece.

Exo 35:10

‘Have every^H3605 skillful^H2450^H3820 person^H2450 among you come^H935 and make^H6213 all^H3605 that the LORD^H3068 has commanded^H6680:

Exo 35:11the [fn]tabernacle, its tent and its covering, its hooks and its boards, its bars, its pillars, and its bases;

Exo 35:12the ark and its poles, the [fn]atoning cover, and the covering curtain;

Exo 35:13

Exo 35:13the table and its poles, and all its [fn]utensils, and the bread of the [fn]Presence;

Exo 35:14

Exo 35:14the lampstand also for the light and its utensils and its lamps, and the oil for the light;

Exo 35:15

Exo 35:15and the altar of incense and its poles, and the anointing oil and the fragrant incense, and the curtain for the doorway at the [fn]entrance of the tabernacle;

Exo 35:16

Exo 35:16the altar of burnt offering with its [fn]bronze grating, its poles, and all its [fn]utensils, the basin and its stand;

Exo 35:17

Exo 35:17the hangings of the courtyard, its pillars and its bases, and the curtain for the gate of the courtyard;

Exo 35:18

Exo 35:18the pegs of the tabernacle and the pegs of the courtyard and their ropes;

Exo 35:19

Exo 35:19the [fn]woven garments for ministering in the Holy Place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments of his sons, to serve as priests.’”

Then all^H3605 the congregation^H5712 of the sons^H1121 of Israel^H3478 departed^H3318 from Moses’^H4872 presence^H6440.

Exo 35:21

Exo 35:21And everyone whose heart [fn]stirred him and everyone whose spirit [fn]moved him came and brought the LORD’S [fn]contribution for the work of the tent of meeting and for all its service, and for the holy garments.

Exo 35:22

Exo 35:22Then all [fn]whose hearts moved them, both men and women, came and brought brooches and [fn]earrings and signet rings and bracelets, all articles of gold; so did everyone who [fn]presented an offering of gold to the LORD.

Exo 35:23

Exo 35:23Everyone [fn]who was in possession of violet, purple, or scarlet material or fine linen or goats’ hair, or rams’ skins [fn]dyed red or fine leather, brought them.

Exo 35:24

Exo 35:24Everyone who could make a [fn]contribution of silver and [fn]bronze brought the LORD’S [fn]contribution; and everyone [fn]who was in possession of acacia wood for any work of the service brought it.

Exo 35:25

Exo 35:25And all the [fn]skilled women spun with their hands, and brought what they had spun, in violet, purple, and scarlet material, and in fine linen.

Exo 35:26

Exo 35:26And all the women whose heart [fn]stirred with a skill spun the goats’ hair.

Exo 35:27The rulers, moreover, brought the onyx stones and the stones for setting for the ephod and for the [fn]breastpiece;

Exo 35:28

Exo 35:28and the spice and the oil for the light and for the anointing oil, and for the fragrant incense.

Exo 35:29

Exo 35:29The [fn]Israelites, all the men and women, whose heart [fn]moved them to bring material for all the work, which the LORD had commanded through Moses to be done, brought a [fn]voluntary offering to the LORD.

Exo 35:31“And He has filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all [fn]craftsmanship;

Exo 35:32to create [fn]designs for working in gold, in silver, and in [fn]bronze,

Exo 35:33

Exo 35:33and in the cutting of stones for settings and in the carving of wood, so as to perform in every inventive work.

Exo 35:34“He also has put in his heart to teach, both he and Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan.

Exo 35:35“He has filled them with [fn]skill to perform every work of an engraver, of a designer, and of an embroiderer, in violet, purple, and in scarlet material, and in fine linen, and of a weaver, as performers of every work and makers of designs.
