Unity of the Spirit

Therefore^G3767 I, the prisoner^G1198 of the Lord^G2962, urge^G3870 you to walk^G4043 in^G516 a^G516 manner^G516 worthy^G516 of the calling^G2821 with which^G3739 you have been called^G2564,

Eph 4:2

Eph 4:2with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,

Eph 4:3

Eph 4:3being diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Eph 4:4

Eph 4:4There is one body and one Spirit, just as you also were called in one hope of your calling;

Eph 4:5

Eph 4:5one Lord, one faith, one baptism,

Eph 4:6

Eph 4:6one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.

Eph 4:7

Eph 4:8

Eph 4:8Therefore [fn]it says,

“WHEN HE ASCENDED^G305 ON HIGH^G5311,

HE LED^G162 CAPTIVE^G162 THE CAPTIVES^G161,

AND HE GAVE^G1325 GIFTS^G1390 TO PEOPLE^G444.”

Eph 4:9

(Now^G1161 this^G3588 expression, “He ascended^G305,” what^G5101 [fn]does it mean^G1510 except^G1508 that He also^G2532 [fn]had descended^G2597 into the lower^G2737 parts^G3313 of the earth^G1093?

Eph 4:10

Eph 4:10He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things.)

Eph 4:11

Eph 4:11And He gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, some as [fn]pastors and teachers,

Eph 4:12

Eph 4:12for the equipping of the [fn]saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ;

Eph 4:13

Eph 4:13until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the [fn]knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature [fn]which belongs to the fullness of Christ.

Eph 4:14

Eph 4:14 [fn]As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of people, by craftiness [fn]in deceitful scheming;

Eph 4:15

Eph 4:15but [fn]speaking the truth in love, [fn]we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, that is, Christ,

Eph 4:16

Eph 4:16from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together [fn]by what every joint supplies, according to the [fn]proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

The Christian’s Walk

Eph 4:17

So^G3767 I say^G3004 this^G3778, and affirm^G3143 in the Lord^G2962, that you are to no^G3371 longer^G3371 walk^G4043 just^G2531 as^G2531 the [fn]Gentiles^G1484 also^G2532 walk^G4043, in the futility^G3153 of their minds^G3563,

Eph 4:18

Eph 4:18being darkened in their understanding, [fn]excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart;

Eph 4:19

Eph 4:19and they, having become callous, have given themselves up to indecent behavior [fn]for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.

Eph 4:20

Eph 4:20But you did not learn Christ in this way,

Eph 4:21

Eph 4:21if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus,

Eph 4:22

Eph 4:22that, in reference to your former way of life, you are to rid yourselves of the old [fn]self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,

Eph 4:23

Eph 4:23and that you are to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,

Eph 4:24

Eph 4:24and to put on the new [fn]self, which [fn]in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

Eph 4:25

Therefore^G1352, ridding^G659 yourselves of^G659 falsehood^G5579, SPEAK^G2980 TRUTH^G225 EACH^G1538 ONE^G1538 OF YOU WITH HIS NEIGHBOR^G4139, because^G3754 we are parts^G3196 of one^G240 another^G240.

Eph 4:26

Eph 4:26BE ANGRY, AND YET DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go down on your anger,

Eph 4:27

Eph 4:27and do not give the devil [fn]an opportunity.

Eph 4:28

Eph 4:28The one who steals must no longer steal; but rather he must labor, producing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with the one who has need.

Eph 4:29

Eph 4:29Let no [fn]unwholesome word come out of your mouth, but if there is any good word for edification [fn]according to the need of the moment, say that, so that it will give grace to those who hear.

Eph 4:30

Eph 4:30Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, [fn]by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Eph 4:31

Eph 4:31All bitterness, wrath, anger, [fn]clamor, and slander must be removed from you, along with all malice.

Eph 4:32

Eph 4:32Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven [fn]you.
