Deuteronomy 34 :: New American Standard Bible 2020 (NASB20)

The Death of Moses

Now Moses^H4872 went^H5927 up^H5927 from the plains^H6160 of Moab^H4124 to Mount^H2022 Nebo^H5015, to the top^H7218 of Pisgah^H6449, which^H834 is opposite^H5921^H6440 Jericho^H3405. And the LORD^H3068 showed^H7200 him all^H3605 the land^H776, Gilead^H1568 as far^H5704 as Dan^H1835,

Deu 34:2

Deu 34:2and all Naphtali and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah as far as the [fn]western sea,

Deu 34:3

Deu 34:3and the [fn]Negev and the territory in the Valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, as far as Zoar.

Deu 34:4

Deu 34:4Then the LORD said to him, “This is the land which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, ‘I will give it to your [fn]descendants’; I have let you see it with your eyes, but you will not go over there.”

Deu 34:5

Deu 34:5So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, in accordance with the [fn]word of the LORD.

Deu 34:6

Deu 34:6And He buried him in the valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth-peor; but no one knows his burial place to this day.

Deu 34:7

Deu 34:7Although Moses was 120 years old when he died, his eyesight was not dim, nor had his vigor left him.

Deu 34:8

Deu 34:8So the sons of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab for thirty days; then the days of weeping and mourning for Moses came to an end.

Deu 34:9

Now Joshua^H3091 the son^H1121 of Nun^H5126 was filled^H4392 with the spirit^H7307 of wisdom^H2451, because^H3588 Moses^H4872 had laid^H5564 his hands^H3027 on him; and the sons^H1121 of Israel^H3478 listened^H8085 to him and did^H6213 as the LORD^H3068 had commanded^H6680 Moses^H4872.

Deu 34:10

Deu 34:10Since that time no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face,

Deu 34:11

Deu 34:11for all the signs and wonders which the LORD sent him to perform in the land of Egypt against Pharaoh, all his servants, and all his land—

Deu 34:12

Deu 34:12and for all the mighty [fn]power and all the great terror which Moses performed in the sight of all Israel.
