The Tablets Rewritten

(Exo 34:1–9 )

“At that time^H6256 the LORD^H3068 said^H559 to me, ‘Cut^H6458 out^H6458 for yourself two^H8147 tablets^H3871 of stone^H68 like the first^H7223 two, and come^H5927 up^H5927 to Me on the mountain^H2022, and make^H6213 an [fn]ark^H727 of wood^H6086 for yourself.

Deu 10:2

Deu 10:2‘Then I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets which you smashed to pieces, and you shall put them in the ark.’

Deu 10:3

Deu 10:3“So I made an ark of acacia wood and cut out two tablets of stone like the first two, and I went up on the mountain with the two tablets in my hand.

Deu 10:4

Deu 10:4“Then He wrote on the tablets, like the first writing, the Ten [fn]Commandments which the LORD had spoken to you on the mountain from the midst of the fire on the day of the assembly; and the LORD gave them to me.

Deu 10:5

Deu 10:5“Then I turned and came down from the mountain, and I put the tablets in the ark which I had made; and they are there, just as the LORD commanded me.”

(Now the sons^H1121 of Israel^H3478 set^H5265 out^H5265 from [fn]Beeroth^H885 Bene-jaakan^H885 to Moserah^H4149. There^H8033 Aaron^H175 died^H4191 and there^H8033 he was buried^H6912, and his son^H1121 Eleazar^H499 served^H3547 as^H3547 priest^H3547 in^H8478 his place^H8478.

Deu 10:7From there they set out to Gudgodah, and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of streams of water.

Deu 10:8

Deu 10:8At that time the LORD singled out the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to serve Him and to bless in His name, until this day.

Deu 10:9

Deu 10:9Therefore, Levi does not have a portion or inheritance with his brothers; the LORD is his inheritance, just as the LORD your God spoke to him.)

Deu 10:10

“I, moreover, stayed^H5975 on the mountain^H2022 for forty^H705 days^H3117 and forty^H705 nights^H3915 like the first^H7223 time^H3117, and the LORD^H3068 listened^H8085 to me that time^H6471 also^H1571; the LORD^H3068 was^H14 not willing^H14 to destroy^H7843 you.

Deu 10:11“Then the LORD said to me, ‘Arise, proceed on your journey ahead of the people, so that they may go in and take possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.’

“And now^H6258, Israel^H3478, what^H4100 does the LORD^H3068 your God^H430 require^H7592 of you, but to [fn]fear^H3372 the LORD^H3068 your God^H430, to walk^H1980 in all^H3605 His ways^H1870 and love^H157 Him, and to serve^H5647 the LORD^H3068 your God^H430 with all^H3605 your heart^H3824 and with all^H3605 your soul^H5315,

Deu 10:13

Deu 10:13and to keep the LORD’S commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good?

Deu 10:14“Behold, to the LORD your God belong heaven and the [fn]highest heavens, the earth and all that is in it.

Deu 10:15

Deu 10:15“Yet the LORD set His affection on your fathers, to love them, and He chose their [fn]descendants after them, you over all the other peoples, as it is this day.

Deu 10:16

Deu 10:16“So circumcise [fn]your heart, and do not stiffen your neck any longer.

Deu 10:17

Deu 10:17“For the LORD your God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who does not show partiality, nor take a bribe.

Deu 10:18

Deu 10:18“He executes justice for the orphan and the widow, and shows His love for the stranger by giving him food and clothing.

Deu 10:19

Deu 10:19“So show your love for the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Deu 10:20

Deu 10:20“You shall fear the LORD your God; you shall serve Him, and cling to Him, and you shall swear by His name.

Deu 10:21

Deu 10:21“He is your glory and He is your God, who has done these great and awesome things for you which your eyes have seen.

Deu 10:22

Deu 10:22“Your fathers went down to Egypt seventy persons in all, and now the LORD your God has made you as numerous as the stars of heaven.
