The Ark Is Brought into the Temple

So all^H3605 the work^H4399 that Solomon^H8010 performed^H6213 for the house^H1004 of the LORD^H3068 was finished^H7999. And Solomon^H8010 brought^H935 in^H935 the [fn]things that his father^H1 David^H1732 had dedicated^H6944, the silver^H3701, the gold^H2091, and all^H3605 the utensils^H3627, and he put^H5414 them in the treasuries^H214 of the house^H1004 of God^H430.

Then^H227 Solomon^H8010 assembled^H6950 at Jerusalem^H3389 the elders^H2205 of Israel^H3478, all^H3605 the heads^H7218 of the tribes^H4294, and the leaders^H5387 of the fathers’^H1 households of the sons^H1121 of Israel^H3478, to bring^H5927 the ark^H727 of the covenant^H1285 of the LORD^H3068 up^H5927 from the city^H5892 of David^H1732, which^H1931 is Zion^H6726.

2Ch 5:3All the men of Israel assembled themselves before the king at the feast, that is in the seventh month.

2Ch 5:4Then all the elders of Israel came, and the Levites picked up the ark.

2Ch 5:5

2Ch 5:5They brought up the ark, the tent of meeting, and all the holy utensils that were in the tent. The Levitical priests brought them up.

2Ch 5:6

2Ch 5:6And King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel who had assembled with him before the ark were sacrificing [fn]so many sheep and oxen that they could not be counted or numbered.

2Ch 5:7

2Ch 5:7Then the priests brought the ark of the covenant of the LORD to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the house, to the Most Holy Place, under the wings of the cherubim.

2Ch 5:8

2Ch 5:8For the cherubim spread their wings over the place of the ark, so that the cherubim made a covering over the ark and its [fn]poles.

2Ch 5:9

2Ch 5:9The poles were so long that the ends of the poles of the ark could be seen in front of the inner sanctuary, but they could not be seen outside; and [fn]they are there to this day.

2Ch 5:10

2Ch 5:10There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets which Moses put there at Horeb, where the LORD made a covenant with the sons of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.

The Glory of God Fills the Temple

2Ch 5:11

When the priests^H3548 came^H3318 out^H3318 from the holy^H6944 place (for all^H3605 the priests^H3548 who were^H4672 present^H4672 had sanctified^H6942 themselves, without^H369 regard^H8104 to divisions^H4256),

2Ch 5:12

2Ch 5:12and all the Levitical singers, Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and kinsmen, clothed in fine linen, with cymbals, harps, and lyres, standing east of the altar, and with them 120 priests blowing trumpets

2Ch 5:13

2Ch 5:13in unison when the trumpeters and the singers were to make themselves heard with one voice to praise and to glorify the LORD, and when they raised their voices accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and other musical instruments, and when they praised the LORD saying, “He indeed is good for His [fn]kindness is everlasting,” then the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud,

2Ch 5:14so that the priests could not rise to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God.
