Serve God Willingly

Therefore^G3767, I urge^G3870 elders^G4245 among^G1722 you, as your fellow^G4850 elder^G4850 and a witness^G3144 of the sufferings^G3804 of Christ^G5547, and one who is also^G2532 a [fn]fellow^G2844 partaker^G2844 of the glory^G1391 that is to be revealed^G601:

1Pe 5:2

1Pe 5:2shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not [fn]with greed but with eagerness;

1Pe 5:3

1Pe 5:3nor yet as domineering over [fn]those assigned to your care, but by [fn]proving to be [fn]examples to the flock.

1Pe 5:4

1Pe 5:4And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading [fn]crown of glory.

1Pe 5:5

1Pe 5:5You [fn]younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT HE GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.

1Pe 5:6

Therefore^G3767 humble^G5013 yourselves under^G5259 the mighty^G2900 hand^G5495 of God^G2316, so^G2443 that^G2443 He may exalt^G5312 you at the proper^G2540 time^G2540,

1Pe 5:7

1Pe 5:7having cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares about you.

1Pe 5:8

1Pe 5:8Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

1Pe 5:9

1Pe 5:9 [fn]So resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your [fn]brothers and sisters who are in the world.

1Pe 5:10

1Pe 5:10After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

1Pe 5:11

1Pe 5:11To Him be dominion forever and ever. Amen.

1Pe 5:12
