The Excellence of Love

If^G1437 I speak^G2980 with the tongues^G1100 of mankind^G444 and of angels^G32, but do not have^G2192 love^G26, I have become^G1096 a noisy^G2278 gong^G5475 or^G2228 a clanging^G214 cymbal^G2950.

1Co 13:2

1Co 13:2If I have the gift of prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

1Co 13:3

1Co 13:3And if I give away all my possessions to charity, and if I surrender my body so that I may [fn]glory, but do not have love, it does me no good.

1Co 13:5It does not act disgracefully, it does not seek its own benefit; it is not provoked, does not keep an account of a wrong suffered,

1Co 13:6it does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;

1Co 13:7it [fn]keeps every confidence, it believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

1Co 13:8

Love^G26 never^G3763 fails^G4098; but if^G1535 there are gifts of [fn]prophecy^G4394, they will be done^G2673 away^G2673 with^G2673; if^G1535 there are tongues^G1100, they will cease^G3973; if^G1535 there is knowledge^G1108, it will be done^G2673 away^G2673 with^G2673.
