The High Priest and a Branch

Then he showed^H7200 me Joshua^H3091 the high^H1419 priest^H3548 standing^H5975 before^H6440 the angel^H4397 of Yahweh^H3068, and [fn]Satan^H7854 standing^H5975 at his right^H3225 hand^H3225 to accuse^H7853 him.

Zec 3:2

Zec 3:2And Yahweh said to Satan, “Yahweh rebuke you, Satan! Indeed, Yahweh who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand delivered from the fire?”

Zec 3:3

Zec 3:3Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments and standing before the angel.

Zec 3:4

Zec 3:4And he answered and spoke to those who were standing before him, saying, “Remove the filthy garments from him.” Again he said to him, “See, I have made your iniquity pass away from you and [fn]will clothe you with festal robes.”

Zec 3:5

Zec 3:5Then I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with garments, while the angel of Yahweh was standing by.

Zec 3:6

And the angel^H4397 of Yahweh^H3068 testified^H5749 to Joshua^H3091, saying^H559,

Zec 3:7

Zec 3:7“Thus says Yahweh of hosts, ‘If you will walk in My ways and if you will keep the responsibility given by Me, then you will also render justice in My house and also keep My courts, and I will grant you [fn]access to walk among these who are standing here.

Zec 3:8

Zec 3:8‘Now listen, Joshua the high priest, you and your friends who are sitting in front of you—indeed they are men who are a wondrous sign, for behold, I am going to bring in My servant the [fn]Branch.

Zec 3:9

Zec 3:9‘For behold, the stone that I have put before Joshua; on one stone are seven eyes. Behold, I will engrave an inscription on it,’ declares Yahweh of hosts, ‘and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.
