I am telling^G3004 the truth^G225 in Christ^G5547, I am not lying^G5574, my conscience^G4893 testifies^G4828 with me in the Holy^G40 Spirit^G4151,

Rom 9:2

Rom 9:2that I have great sorrow and unceasing grief in my heart.

Rom 9:3

Rom 9:3For I could [fn]wish that I myself were accursed, separated from Christ for the sake of my brothers, my kinsmen according to the flesh,

Rom 9:4

Rom 9:4who are Israelites, to whom belongs the adoption as sons, and the glory and the covenants and the giving of the Law and the temple service and the promises,

Rom 9:5

Rom 9:5whose are the fathers, and from whom is the [fn]Christ according to the flesh, who is God over all, blessed [fn]forever. Amen.

Rom 9:6

But it is not as though^G3754 the word^G3056 of God^G2316 has failed^G1601. For they are not all^G3956 Israel^G2474 who^G3588 are descended from Israel^G2474;

Rom 9:7

Rom 9:7nor are they all children because they are Abraham’s seed, but: “[fn]THROUGH ISAAC YOUR SEED WILL BE NAMED.”

Rom 9:8

Rom 9:8That is, the children of the flesh are not the children of God, but the children of the promise are considered as seed.

Rom 9:9

Rom 9:9For this is the word of promise: “AT THIS TIME I WILL COME, AND SARAH SHALL HAVE A SON.”

Rom 9:10

Rom 9:10And not only this, but there was Rebekah also, when she had conceived twins by one man, our father Isaac;

Rom 9:11

Rom 9:11for though the twins were not yet born and had not done anything good or bad, so that the purpose of God according to His choice would [fn]stand, not [fn]because of works but [fn]because of Him who calls,

Rom 9:12

Rom 9:12it was said to her, “THE OLDER SHALL SERVE THE YOUNGER.”

Rom 9:13

Rom 9:13Just as it is written, “JACOB I LOVED, BUT ESAU I HATED.”

Rom 9:14

What^G5101 shall we say^G3004 then^G3767? Is there any unrighteousness^G93 with God^G2316? May it never^G3361 be!

Rom 9:15

Rom 9:15For He says to Moses, “I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHOM I HAVE MERCY, AND I WILL HAVE COMPASSION ON WHOM I HAVE COMPASSION.”

Rom 9:16

Rom 9:16So then it does not depend on the one who wills or the one who runs, but on God who has mercy.

Rom 9:17

Rom 9:17For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “FOR THIS VERY PURPOSE I RAISED YOU UP, IN ORDER TO DEMONSTRATE MY POWER IN YOU, AND IN ORDER THAT MY NAME MIGHT BE PROCLAIMED [fn]THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE EARTH.”

Rom 9:18

Rom 9:18So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires.

Rom 9:19

You will say^G3004 to me then^G3767, “Why^G5101 does He still^G2089 find^G3201 fault^G3201? For who^G5101 resists^G436 His will^G1013?”

Rom 9:20

Rom 9:20On the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? WILL THE THING MOLDED SAY TO THE MOLDER, “WHY DID YOU MAKE ME LIKE THIS”?

Rom 9:21

Rom 9:21Or does not the potter have authority over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel [fn]for honorable use and another [fn]for dishonorable use?

Rom 9:22

Rom 9:22And [fn]what if God, wanting to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath having been prepared for destruction,

Rom 9:23

Rom 9:23and in order that He might make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory—

Rom 9:24

Rom 9:24even us, whom He also called, not from among Jews only, but also from among Gentiles?

Rom 9:25

Rom 9:25As He says also in Hosea,

“I WILL CALL^G2564 THOSE^G3588 WHO WERE NOT MY PEOPLE^G2992, ‘MY PEOPLE^G2992,’

AND HER WHO WAS NOT BELOVED^G25, ‘BELOVED^G25.’”

Rom 9:26

“AND IT SHALL BE THAT IN THE PLACE^G5117 WHERE^G3757 IT WAS SAID^G3004 TO THEM, ‘YOU ARE NOT MY PEOPLE^G2992,’

THERE^G1563 THEY SHALL BE CALLED^G2564 SONS^G5207 OF THE LIVING^G2198 GOD^G2316.”

Rom 9:27

And Isaiah^G2268 cries^G2896 out^G2896 concerning^G5228 Israel^G2474, “THOUGH^G1437 THE NUMBER^G706 OF THE SONS^G5207 OF ISRAEL^G2474 BE LIKE^G5613 THE SAND^G285 OF THE SEA^G2281, IT IS THE REMNANT^G2640 THAT WILL BE SAVED^G4982;

Rom 9:28

Rom 9:28FOR THE LORD WILL EXECUTE HIS WORD ON THE LAND, [fn]THOROUGHLY AND [fn]QUICKLY.”

Rom 9:29

Rom 9:29And just as Isaiah foretold,

“UNLESS^G1508 THE LORD^G2962 OF [fn]SABAOTH^G4519 HAD LEFT^G1459 TO US A SEED^G4690,

WE WOULD HAVE BECOME^G1096 LIKE^G5613 SODOM^G4670, AND WOULD HAVE [fn]RESEMBLED^G3666 GOMORRAH^G1116.”

Rom 9:30

What^G5101 shall we say^G3004 then^G3767? That Gentiles^G1484, who did not pursue^G1377 righteousness^G1343, laid^G2638 hold^G2638 of righteousness^G1343, even^G1161 the righteousness^G1343 which is [fn]by faith^G4102;
