God’s Righteous Judgment

Therefore^G1352 you are^G1488 without^G379 excuse^G379, O^G5599 man^G444, everyone^G3956 who^G3588 passes^G2919 judgment^G2919, for in that which^G3739 you judge^G2919 another^G2087, you condemn^G2632 yourself^G4572; for you who judge^G2919 practice^G4238 the same^G846 things^G846.

Rom 2:2

Rom 2:2And we know that the judgment of God [fn]rightly falls upon those who practice such things.

Rom 2:3

Rom 2:3But do you presume this, O man—who passes judgment on those who practice such things and does the same—that you will escape the judgment of God?

Rom 2:4

Rom 2:4Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?

Rom 2:5

Rom 2:5But [fn]because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,

Rom 2:6

Rom 2:6who WILL REPAY TO EACH ACCORDING TO HIS WORKS:

Rom 2:7

Rom 2:7to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life;

Rom 2:8

Rom 2:8but to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and anger.

Rom 2:9

Rom 2:9There will be affliction and turmoil [fn]for every soul of man who works out evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek,

Rom 2:10

Rom 2:10but glory and honor and peace to everyone who works good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

Rom 2:11

Rom 2:11For there is no partiality with God.

Rom 2:12

For all^G3745 who^G3745 have sinned^G264 [fn]without^G460 the^G460 Law^G460 will also^G2532 perish^G622 [fn]without^G460 the Law^G460, and all^G3745 who^G3745 have sinned^G264 [fn]under^G1722 the Law^G3551 will be judged^G2919 [fn]by the Law^G3551.

Rom 2:13

Rom 2:13For it is not the hearers [fn]of the Law who are [fn]just before God, but the doers [fn]of the Law will be justified.

Rom 2:14

Rom 2:14For when Gentiles who do not have [fn]the Law naturally do the things of the Law, these, not having [fn]the Law, are a law to themselves,

Rom 2:15

Rom 2:15in that they demonstrate the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them,

Rom 2:16

Rom 2:16on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus.

The Jew Is Judged by the Law

Rom 2:17

But if^G1487 you bear^G2028 the name^G2028 “Jew^G2453” and rely^G1879 [fn]upon^G1879 the Law^G3551 and boast^G2744 in God^G2316,

Rom 2:18

Rom 2:18and know His will and [fn]approve the things that are essential, being instructed out of the Law,

Rom 2:19

Rom 2:19and are confident that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness,

Rom 2:20

Rom 2:20a [fn]corrector of the foolish, a teacher of [fn]the immature, having in the Law the embodiment of knowledge and of the truth,

Rom 2:21

Rom 2:21you, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who [fn]preach that one shall not steal, do you steal?

Rom 2:22

Rom 2:22You who say that one should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?

Rom 2:23

Rom 2:23You who boast [fn]in the Law, through your transgression of the Law, do you dishonor God?

Rom 2:24

Rom 2:24For “THE NAME OF GOD IS BLASPHEMED AMONG THE GENTILES BECAUSE OF YOU,” just as it is written.

Rom 2:25

For indeed^G3303 circumcision^G4061 is^G5623 of^G5623 value^G5623 if^G1437 you practice^G4238 [fn]the Law^G3551, but if^G1437 you are a transgressor^G3848 [fn]of the Law^G3551, your circumcision^G4061 has become^G1096 uncircumcision^G203.

Rom 2:26

Rom 2:26So if the [fn]uncircumcised man observes the righteous requirements of the Law, will not his uncircumcision be counted as circumcision?

Rom 2:27

Rom 2:27And he who is physically uncircumcised, if he [fn]fulfills the Law, will he not judge you who, through the letter of the Law and circumcision, are a transgressor [fn]of the Law?

Rom 2:28

Rom 2:28For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh.

Rom 2:29

Rom 2:29But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God.
