Rev 9:1

Then^G2532 the fifth^G3991 angel^G32 sounded^G4537. Then I saw^G3708 a star^G792 from heaven^G3772 which had fallen^G4098 to the earth^G1093, and the key^G2807 of the pit^G5421 of the abyss^G12 was given^G1325 to him.

Rev 9:2

Rev 9:2And he opened the pit of the abyss and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke of the pit.

Rev 9:3

Rev 9:3Then out of the smoke came locusts [fn]upon the earth, and power was given them, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

Rev 9:4

Rev 9:4And they were told not to hurt the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree, but only the men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.

Rev 9:5

Rev 9:5And [fn]they were not permitted to kill [fn]anyone, but to torment for five months, and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it [fn]stings a man.

Rev 9:6

Rev 9:6And in those days men will seek death and will never find it; they will long to die, and death flees from them.

Rev 9:7

And the [fn]appearance^G3667 of the locusts^G200 was like^G3664 horses^G2462 prepared^G2090 for battle^G4171. And on their heads^G2776 appeared^G5613 to be crowns^G4735 like^G3664 gold^G5557, and their faces^G4383 were like^G5613 the faces^G4383 of men^G444.

Rev 9:8

Rev 9:8And they had hair like the hair of women, and their teeth were like the teeth of lions.

Rev 9:9

Rev 9:9And they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots, of many horses running to battle.

Rev 9:10

Rev 9:10And they have tails like scorpions, and stings; and in their tails is their power to hurt men for five months.

Rev 9:11

Rev 9:11They have as king over them, the angel of the abyss. His name in Hebrew is [fn]Abaddon, and in the Greek he has the name [fn]Apollyon.

Rev 9:12

One^G1520 woe^G3759 is past^G565; behold^G2400, two^G1417 woes^G3759 are still^G2089 coming^G2064 after^G3326 these^G3778 things^G3778.

Rev 9:13

Then^G2532 the sixth^G1623 angel^G32 sounded^G4537, and I heard^G191 [fn]a voice^G5456 from the [fn]four^G5064 horns^G2768 of the golden^G5552 altar^G2379 which is before^G1799 God^G2316,

Rev 9:14

Rev 9:14one saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who have been bound at the great river Euphrates.”

Rev 9:15

Rev 9:15And the four angels were released, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, so that they would kill a third of [fn]mankind.

Rev 9:16

Rev 9:16And the number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them.

Rev 9:17

Rev 9:17And [fn]this is how I saw in the vision the horses and those who sit on them: the riders had breastplates the color of fire and of hyacinth and of [fn]brimstone; and the heads of the horses are like the heads of lions; and out of their mouths come fire and smoke and [fn]brimstone.

Rev 9:18

Rev 9:18A third of [fn]mankind was killed by these three plagues, by the fire and the smoke and the [fn]brimstone which came out of their mouths.

Rev 9:19

Rev 9:19For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails are like serpents, having heads, and with them they do harm.

Rev 9:20

And the rest^G3062 of [fn]mankind^G444, who^G3739 were not killed^G615 by these^G3778 plagues^G4127, did not repent^G3340 of the works^G2041 of their hands^G5495, so^G2443 as not to worship^G4352 demons^G1140, and the idols^G1497 of gold^G5552 and of silver^G693 and of brass^G5470 and of stone^G3035 and of wood^G3585, which^G3739 can^G1410 neither^G3777 see^G991 nor^G3777 hear^G191 nor^G3777 walk^G4043.
