The New Heaven and Earth

Then^G2532 I saw^G3708 a new^G2537 heaven^G3772 and a new^G2537 earth^G1093; for the first^G4413 heaven^G3772 and the first^G4413 earth^G1093 passed^G565 away^G565, and there is no^G3756 longer^G2089 any sea^G2281.

Rev 21:2

Rev 21:2And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.

Rev 21:3

Rev 21:3And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will [fn]dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among [fn]them,

Rev 21:4

Rev 21:4and He will WIPE AWAY EVERY TEAR FROM THEIR EYES; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain. The first things passed away.”

Rev 21:5

And He who sits^G2521 on the throne^G2362 said^G3004, “Behold^G2400, I am making^G4160 all^G3956 things^G3956 new^G2537.” And He *said^G3004, “Write^G1125, for these^G3778 words^G3056 are faithful^G4103 and true^G228.”

Rev 21:6

Rev 21:6Then He said to me, “They are done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost.

Rev 21:7

Rev 21:7“He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I WILL BE HIS GOD AND HE WILL BE MY SON.

Rev 21:8

Rev 21:8“But for the cowardly and [fn]unbelieving and abominable and murderers and sexually immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and [fn]brimstone, which is the second death.”

Rev 21:9

Then^G2532 one^G1520 of the seven^G2033 angels^G32 who have^G2192 the seven^G2033 bowls^G5357 [fn]full^G1073 of the seven^G2033 last^G2078 plagues^G4127 came^G2064 and spoke^G2980 with me, saying^G3004, “Come^G1204 here^G1204, I will show^G1166 you the bride^G3565, the wife^G1135 of the Lamb^G721.”

New Jerusalem, the Holy City

Rev 21:10

Rev 21:10And he carried me away [fn]in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,

Rev 21:11

Rev 21:11having the glory of God. Her [fn]brilliance was like precious stone, as a stone of crystal-clear jasper.

Rev 21:12

Rev 21:12 [fn]It had a great and high wall. [fn]It had twelve gates and at those gates, twelve angels; and names [fn]have been written on those gates, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel.

Rev 21:13

Rev 21:13There were three gates on the east and three gates on the north and three gates on the south and three gates on the west.

Rev 21:14

Rev 21:14And the wall of the city had twelve foundation stones, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Rev 21:15

And the one who spoke^G2980 with me had^G2192 a [fn]gold^G5552 measuring^G2563 rod^G2563 to measure^G3354 the city^G4172 and its gates^G4440 and its wall^G5038.

Rev 21:16

Rev 21:16And the city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as the width; and he measured the city with the [fn]rod, [fn]12,000 stadia; its length and width and height are equal.

Rev 21:17

Rev 21:17And he measured its wall, [fn]144 cubits, according to human [fn]measurements, which are also angelic measurements.

Rev 21:18

Rev 21:18And the material of the wall was jasper, and the city was pure gold, like pure glass.

Rev 21:19

Rev 21:19The foundation stones of the city wall were adorned with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation stone was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald;

Rev 21:20

Rev 21:20the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst.

Rev 21:21

Rev 21:21And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.

Rev 21:22

And I saw^G3708 no^G3756 sanctuary^G3485 in it, for the Lord^G2962 God^G2316 the Almighty^G3841 and the Lamb^G721 are its sanctuary^G3485.

Rev 21:23

Rev 21:23And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb.

Rev 21:24

Rev 21:24And the nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth [fn]will bring their glory into it.

Rev 21:25

Rev 21:25And its gates will never be closed by day, for there will be no night there;

Rev 21:26

Rev 21:26and they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it.

Rev 21:27

Rev 21:27And nothing defiled, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those [fn]whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
