Christ’s Thousand Year Reign

Then^G2532 I saw^G3708 an angel^G32 coming^G2597 down^G2597 from heaven^G3772, having^G2192 the key^G2807 of the abyss^G12 and a great^G3173 chain^G254 [fn]in his hand^G5495.

Rev 20:2

Rev 20:2And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;

Rev 20:3

Rev 20:3and he threw him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were finished. After these things he must be released for a short time.

Rev 20:4

Then^G2532 I saw^G3708 thrones^G2362, and they sat^G2523 on them, and judgment^G2917 was given^G1325 to them. And I saw the souls^G5590 of those^G3588 who had been beheaded^G3990 because^G1223 of [fn]their witness^G3141 of Jesus^G2424 and because^G1223 of the word^G3056 of God^G2316, and who^G3748 also had not worshiped^G4352 the beast^G2342 or^G3761 his image^G1504, and had not received^G2983 the mark^G5480 on their forehead^G3359 and on their hand^G5495. And they came^G2198 to^G2198 life^G2198 and reigned^G936 with Christ^G5547 for a thousand^G5507 years^G2094.

Rev 20:5

Rev 20:5The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

Rev 20:6

Rev 20:6Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection. Over these the second death has no authority, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.

The Defeat of Satan

(cf. Eze 38; 39 )

Rev 20:7

And when^G3752 the thousand^G5507 years^G2094 are finished^G5055, Satan^G4567 will be released^G3089 from his prison^G5438,

Rev 20:8

Rev 20:8and will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the sand of the [fn]seashore.

Rev 20:9

Rev 20:9And they came up on the [fn]broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and devoured them.

Rev 20:10

Rev 20:10And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and [fn]brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

The Great White Throne Judgment

Rev 20:11

Then^G2532 I saw^G3708 a great^G3173 white^G3022 throne^G2362 and Him who sits^G2521 upon it, from whose^G3739 [fn]presence^G4383 earth^G1093 and heaven^G3772 fled^G5343 away^G5343, and no^G3756 place^G5117 was found^G2147 for them.

Rev 20:12

Rev 20:12Then I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and [fn]books were opened; and another [fn]book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged from the things which were written in the [fn]books, according to their deeds.

Rev 20:13

Rev 20:13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them, and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds.

Rev 20:14
