Fallen Is Babylon

After^G3326 these^G3778 things^G3778 I saw^G3708 another^G243 angel^G32 coming^G2597 down^G2597 from heaven^G3772, having^G2192 great^G3173 authority^G1849, and the earth^G1093 was illumined^G5461 with his glory^G1391.

Rev 18:2

Rev 18:2And he cried out with a mighty voice, saying, “[fn]FALLEN, FALLEN IS BABYLON THE GREAT! And she has become a dwelling place of demons and a [fn]prison of every unclean spirit, and a [fn]prison of every unclean bird [fn]and a [fn]prison of every unclean and hateful beast.

Rev 18:3

Rev 18:3“For all the nations [fn]have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her sexual immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich by the power of her [fn]sensuality.”

Rev 18:4

And I heard^G191 another^G243 voice^G5456 from heaven^G3772, saying^G3004, “Come^G1831 out^G1831 of her, my people^G2992, so^G2443 that you will not participate^G4790 in her sins^G266 and receive^G2983 of her plagues^G4127;

Rev 18:5

Rev 18:5for her sins have [fn]piled up as high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.

Rev 18:6

Rev 18:6“Pay her back even as she paid, and [fn]give her back double according to her deeds; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her.

Rev 18:7

Rev 18:7“To the degree that she glorified herself and lived [fn]sensuously, to the same degree give her torment and mourning, for she says in her heart, ‘I SIT as A QUEEN AND I AM NOT A WIDOW, and will never see mourning.’

Rev 18:8

Rev 18:8“For this reason in one day her plagues will come, [fn]pestilence and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up with fire; for the Lord God who judges her is strong.

Rev 18:9

“And the kings^G935 of the earth^G1093, who committed^G4203 sexual^G4203 immorality^G4203 and lived^G4763 [fn]sensuously^G4763 with her, will cry^G2799 and lament^G2875 over^G1909 her when^G3752 they see^G991 the smoke^G2586 of her burning^G4451,

Rev 18:10

Rev 18:10standing at a distance because of the fear of her torment, saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’

Rev 18:11

“And the merchants^G1713 of the earth^G1093 cry^G2799 and mourn^G3996 over^G1909 her, because^G3754 no^G3762 one^G3762 buys^G59 their cargo^G1117 anymore^G3765—

Rev 18:12

Rev 18:12cargo of gold and silver and precious [fn]stones and pearls and fine linen and purple and silk and scarlet, and every kind of citron wood and every article of ivory and every article made from precious wood and [fn]bronze and iron and marble,

Rev 18:13

Rev 18:13and cinnamon and amomum and incense and perfume and frankincense and wine and olive oil and fine flour and wheat and cattle and sheep, and cargo of horses and carriages and [fn]human beings and [fn]human lives.

Rev 18:14

Rev 18:14“And the fruit [fn]you long for has gone from you, and all things that were splendid and shining have passed away from you and men will no longer find them.

Rev 18:15

Rev 18:15“The merchants of these things, who became rich from her, will stand at a distance because of the fear of her torment, crying and mourning,

Rev 18:16

Rev 18:16saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, she who was clothed in fine linen and purple and scarlet, and [fn]adorned with gold and precious [fn]stones and pearls;

Rev 18:17

Rev 18:17for in one hour such great wealth has been laid waste!’ And every shipmaster and every [fn]passenger and sailor, and as many as make their living by the sea, stood at a distance,

Rev 18:18

Rev 18:18and were crying out as they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What is like the great city?’

Rev 18:19“And they threw dust on their heads and were crying out, crying and mourning, saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, in which all who have ships at sea became rich by her [fn]wealth, for in one hour she has been laid waste!’

Rev 18:20

Rev 18:20“Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, because God has [fn]pronounced judgment for you against her.”

Rev 18:21

Then^G2532 [fn]a strong^G2478 angel^G32 picked^G142 up^G142 a stone^G3037 like^G5613 a great^G3173 millstone^G6061 and threw^G906 it into the sea^G2281, saying^G3004, “So^G3779 will Babylon^G897, the great^G3173 city^G4172, be thrown^G906 down with violence^G3731, and will not be found^G2147 any^G2089 longer^G2089.

Rev 18:22

Rev 18:22“And the sound of harpists and musicians and flute-players and trumpeters will not be heard in you any longer; and no craftsman of any craft will be found in you any longer; and the sound of a mill will not be heard in you any longer;

Rev 18:23

Rev 18:23and the light of a lamp will not shine in you any longer; and the voice of the bridegroom and bride will not be heard in you any longer; for your merchants were the great men of the earth, because all the nations were deceived by your sorcery.

Rev 18:24
