The Angel and the Little Scroll

Then I saw^G3708 another^G243 strong^G2478 angel^G32 coming^G2597 down^G2597 out^G2597 of heaven^G3772, clothed^G4016 with a cloud^G3507, and the rainbow^G2463 was upon his head^G2776, and his face^G4383 was like^G5613 the sun^G2246, and his feet^G4228 like^G5613 pillars^G4769 of fire^G4442;

Rev 10:2

Rev 10:2and he had in his hand a little scroll which was open. He placed his right foot on the sea and his left on the earth,

Rev 10:3

Rev 10:3and he cried out with a loud voice, as when a lion roars. And when he had cried out, the seven peals of thunder [fn]uttered their voices.

Rev 10:4

Rev 10:4And when the seven peals of thunder had spoken, I was about to write; and I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Seal up the things which the seven peals of thunder have spoken and do not write them.”

Rev 10:5

Rev 10:5Then the angel, whom I saw standing on the sea and on the earth, lifted up his right hand to heaven,

Rev 10:6

Rev 10:6and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, WHO CREATED HEAVEN AND THE THINGS IN IT, AND THE EARTH AND THE THINGS IN IT, AND THE SEA AND THE THINGS IN IT, that there will be delay no longer,

Rev 10:7

Rev 10:7but in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, then the mystery of God is finished, as He proclaimed good news to His slaves, the prophets.

Rev 10:8

Then^G2532 the voice^G5456 which^G3739 I heard^G191 from heaven^G3772, I heard again^G3825 speaking^G2980 with me, and saying^G3004, “Go^G5217, take^G2983 the scroll^G975 which is open^G455 in the hand^G5495 of the angel^G32 who stands^G2476 on the sea^G2281 and on the earth^G1093.”

Rev 10:9

Rev 10:9So I went to the angel, telling him to give me the little scroll. And he *said to me, “Take it and eat it; it will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey.”

Rev 10:10

Rev 10:10And I took the little scroll out of the angel’s hand and ate it, and in my mouth it was sweet as honey; and when I had eaten it, my stomach was made bitter.

Rev 10:11

Rev 10:11And they *said to me, “You must prophesy again about many peoples and nations and tongues and kings.”
