Psalm 85 :: Legacy Standard Bible (LSB)

Turn Us Back, O God

Psa 85:1

For the choir director. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm.

O Yahweh, You showed favor to Your land;

You [fn]returned the fortunes of Jacob.

Psa 85:2

You forgave the iniquity of Your people;

You covered all their sin. [fn]Selah.

Psa 85:3

You withdrew all Your fury;

You turned back from Your burning anger.

Psa 85:4

Turn us back, O God of our salvation,

And cause Your vexation toward us to cease.

Psa 85:5

Will You be angry with us forever?

Will You prolong Your anger from generation to generation?

Psa 85:6

Will You not Yourself return to [fn]revive us,

That Your people may be glad in You?

Psa 85:7

Show us, O Yahweh, Your lovingkindness,

And give us Your salvation.

Psa 85:8

Let me hear what the God, Yahweh, will speak;

For He will speak peace to His people, [fn]to His holy ones;

But let them not turn back to [fn]folly.

Psa 85:9

Surely His salvation is near to those who [fn]fear Him,

That glory may dwell in our land.

Psa 85:10

Lovingkindness and [fn]truth have met together;

Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

Psa 85:11

[fn]Truth springs up from the earth,

And righteousness looks down from heaven.

Psa 85:12

Indeed, Yahweh will give what is good,

And our land will yield its produce.

Psa 85:13

Righteousness will go before Him

And will establish the way of His steps.
