Psalm 7 :: Legacy Standard Bible (LSB)

In You I Have Taken Refuge

Psa 7:1

A [fn]Shiggaion of David, which he sang to Yahweh concerning the words of Cush, a Benjamite.

O Yahweh my God, in You I have taken refuge;

Save me from all those who pursue me, and deliver me,

Psa 7:2

Lest he tear [fn]my soul like a lion,

Rending me in pieces, while there is none to deliver.

Psa 7:3

O Yahweh my God, if I have done this,

If there is injustice in my hands,

Psa 7:4

If I have rewarded evil to him who [fn]is at peace with me,

Or have plundered my adversary without cause,

Psa 7:5

Let the enemy pursue [fn]my soul and overtake [fn]it;

And let him trample my life down to the ground

And cause my glory to dwell in the dust. [fn]Selah.

Psa 7:6

Arise, O Yahweh, in Your anger;

Lift up Yourself against the fury of my adversaries,

And arouse Yourself [fn]for me; You have appointed judgment.

Psa 7:7

Let the congregation of the peoples encompass You,

And over [fn]them return on high.

Psa 7:8

Yahweh judges the peoples;

[fn]Give justice to me, O Yahweh, according to my righteousness and my integrity that is in me.

Psa 7:9

O let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous;

For the righteous God tests the hearts and [fn]minds.

Psa 7:10

My shield is [fn]with God,

Who saves the upright in heart.

Psa 7:11

God is a righteous judge,

And a God who has indignation every day.

Psa 7:12

If [fn]a man does not repent, He will sharpen His sword;

He has bent His bow and prepared it.

Psa 7:13

He has also prepared [fn]for Himself deadly weapons;

He makes His arrows fiery shafts.

Psa 7:14

Behold, he travails with wickedness,

And he conceives mischief and gives birth to falsehood.

Psa 7:15

He has dug a pit and hollowed it out,

And has fallen into the hole which he made.

Psa 7:16

His mischief will return upon his own head,

And his violence will descend upon [fn]his own skull.

Psa 7:17

I will give thanks to Yahweh according to His righteousness

And will sing praise to the name of Yahweh Most High.
